Cumberland – Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works
What is happening?

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.2) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are required. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 26 March 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as stated in the schedule, as and when the relevant signs are displayed.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Curthwaite Road.

South Henry Street, Carlisle – From 24 March 2025 for approx. 4 days between 0930 and 1530 hours each day

From a point adjacent to No.103 South Henry Street, extending in north westerly direction for approx. 30m.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

U1329 Yetlands, Dalston – From 25 March 2025 for approx. 4 days between 0930 and 1530 hours each day

From a point adjacent to No.12 Yetlands, extending in north easterly direction for approx. 20m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Yetlands, Nine Rigg and Low Moorlands.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Greenfield Lane, Union Lane and the A6071 Main Street and Longtown Road.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1200, U1199 Hayton, U1202 Brier Lonning and the A69.

U1073 Harker, Carlisle – From 4 April 2025 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1530 hours (Ref: TTROC/13813)
From a point approx. 380 metres north east of its junction with the C1015, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 210m.
Alternative Route: via the U1072, U1073, U1074, A7 Blackford and C1015.

U1239 Low Moorlands, Dalston – From 7 April 2025 for approx. 11 days between 0930 and 1530 hours each day (Ref: TTROC/13733)
(i) Low Moorlands (cul-de-sac, from a point adjacent to the No.51 Low Moorlands extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 20m; and
(ii) Low Moorlands from a point adjacent to No.39 Low Moorlands extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 40m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Low Moorlands, Caldew Drive and Nine Rigg.
