Public Path Diversion And Definitive Map And Statement Modification Order 2025
The above-named Order, made on 5 March 2025 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert the above-mentioned public footpath from its current alignment commencing on Hillside Road and proceeding in a westerly direction turning onto Farm Road and proceeding in a northerly direction onto Hatchery Hill and continuing through Sparsholt campus; to a new alignment commencing on Hillside Road at SU 4290 3192, proceeding north-westwards through a gate in a hedgerow, proceeding northwards following a hedgerow, crossing Garston’s Track through two gates, continuing westwards then northwards along a field boundary, exiting onto a track to rejoin the definitive line of the footpath at SU 4242 3269.
A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD and at the offices of Winchester City Council, City Offices, Colebrook Street, Winchester, SO23 9LJ; or online at www.hants.gov.uk/publicnotices. Copies of the Order and the map can be provided on request.
Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to the Head of Countryside Access, Universal Services, Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD or via e-mail to row.notices@hants.gov.uk quoting reference:- PPO 5250 no later than 18 April 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made.
The personal data you provide in any representation will be treated in accordance with Data Protection Legislation, and may be published in a decision report, be disclosed to other interested parties, including the landowner (or their representatives). It may also be made public if the matter is referred to the Planning Inspectorate. Your data will be retained for a maximum period of 3 years from the date that the application is resolved. The legal basis for our use of this information is the compliance with a legal obligation – Highways Act 1980.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Hampshire County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
