Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders
Derby City Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit use of the roads by traffic.


Temporary Road Closure Order On Bonsall Avenue And Repton Avenue, Derby

WHEN: 05 April 2025 to 20 April 2025 

WHERE: Repton Avenue, from its junction with Rowsley Avenue to 10 metres both sides of its junction with Bonsall Avenue. 

REASON: Sewer works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Bonsall Avenue – Penrhyn Avenue – Littleover Lane – Bonsall Avenue – Rowsley Avenue and the same in the opposite direction


Temporary Road Closure Order On Slack Lane, Derby

WHEN: 05 April 2025 to 20 April 2025 

WHERE: Slack Lane, from its junction with Brough Street to its junction with Howe Street. 

REASON: Electrical works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Uttoxeter Old Road – Ashbourne Road – Kingsway (A38) – Raleigh Street – Lyttelton Street - Cheviot Street and Slack Lane – Cheviot Street – Lyttelton Street – Brackensdale Avenue – Kingsway (A38) – Ashbourne Road – Uttoxeter Old Road 


Temporary Road Closure Order On Albert Street, Corporation Street, Morledge And Tennant Street, Derby

WHEN: 13 April 2025 to 25 April 2025 (excluding Easter Holidays) (20:00 to 05:00 Daily – Overnight) Closures in Phases – see below Only one Roundabout to be closed at one time 

WHERE: Phase 1: 13 to 22 April 2025 Corporation Street, from roundabout with Derwent Street to its roundabout with Albert Street, Tennant Street and Morledge.

Phase 2: 22 to 25 April 2025 Albert Street and Morledge, Albert street, from its junction with Exchange Street to its roundabout with Tennant Street, Corporation Street and its junction with Derby Crown Court car park entrance on Morledge. 

REASON: Construction work 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Cheapside – Bold Lane – Jury Street – Walker Lane – Cathedral Road – Ford Street (A601) – Stafford Street – Mercian Way – Lara Croft Way – Bradshaw Way – Traffic Street – to Morledge or Continue from Traffic Street – The Cockpit – St Alkmunds Way (A601) – Darwin Place- Exeter Place – Exeter Street – Derwent Street


Temporary 30mph Speed Limit Reduction Order On Burton Road, Manor Road And Warwick Avenue, Derby

WHEN: 28 March 2025 to 01 June 2025 

WHERE: Burton Road between numbers 429 and 423 A5111 Northbound from opposite 214a Warwick Avenue to opposite 141 Manor Road. A5111 Southbound from 141 Manor Road to 214a Warwick Avenue. 30mph Speed reduction for both sides of the highway. 

REASON: Signal works

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: N/A


Temporary Road Closure Order On Handford Street, Derby

WHEN: 07 April 2025 to 09 April 2025 

WHERE: Handford Street, from No 12 to No 14. An approximate length of 10 metres. 

REASON: Water works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Richardson Street – Peel Street – Cecil Street – Stanley Street and the same in the opposite direction
