Merton, Multiple Temporary Road Closures & Parking Restrictions Due To Various Works

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(THE RUSH AND WATERY LANE)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate manhole repair works in The Rush, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in The Rush and Watery Lane.

  2. During the works no person will cause or permit any vehicle to:

    (a) enter or proceed in—

    • (i) The Rush, from its junction with Watery Lane north-westward for a distance of 15 metres;

    • (ii) Watery Lane, from its junction with The Rush south-eastward for a distance of 25 metres;

      (b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle, in the length of roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a)(i) and (ii) above.

  3. Any designated parking place, situated in the roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a)(i) and (ii) above will be suspended for the duration of the works in those roads or lengths of road.

  4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  5. Nothing in the Order will apply to:

    • (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

    • (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

    • (c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

    • (d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited roads or lengths of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

  6. Watery Lane is a cul-de-sac and access will be maintained insofar as it is reasonably practicable without interference with the works.

  7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

  8. The Order will come into operation on Monday 17th March 2025 and it is expected that the works will be completed on Wednesday 19th March 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for a period of 3 months should the works be required.

(STANLEY ROAD, SW19)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate re-cladding works at No. 10 Stanley Road, SW19, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.

  2. During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in Stanley Road, the west side, from a point 36 metres north of its junction with The Broadway northward for a distance of 18 metres.

  3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of road specified in paragraph 2 above will be suspended for the duration of the works.

  4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  5. Nothing in the Order will apply to:

    • (a) any vehicle being used in the execution of the said works or for the loading or unloading of construction delivery vehicles; or

    • (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

    • (c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.

  6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

  7. The Order will come into operation on Friday 14th March 2025 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 13th August 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months and its provisions will be re-introduced during that time should the works be required.

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(CRESCENT GARDENS, SW19, MELROSE AVENUE, MITCHAM AND THE CRESCENT, SW19)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate tree cutting and pruning works in The Crescent, SW19, Crescent Gardens, SW19 and Melrose Avenue, Mitcham, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicles from waiting or parking in the roads specified in the Schedule to this notice.

  2. During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading that vehicle, within 10 metres of any tree in any of the roads or lengths of road specified in Column 2 of the Schedule to this notice.

  3. Any designated parking place situated in the roads or lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice will be suspended for the duration of the works. The works will be carried out under a rolling programme of parking suspension to minimise the inconvenience to residents.

  4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  5. Nothing in the Order will apply to:

    • (a) any vehicle being used in the execution of the said works; or

    • (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

    • (c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.

  6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

  7. The Order will come into operation on Monday 17th March 2025 and remain in force for 18 months during which its provisions will be re-introduced should further works be required.

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to enable highway improvement works in Martin Way near its junction with Mostyn Road, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in Martin Way and Mostyn Road.

  2. During the works no person will:

    • (a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in—

      • (i) Martin Way, from a point 20 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Mostyn Road, westward to a point 50 metres west of the western kerb-line of Mostyn Road;

      • (ii) Mostyn Road, from its junction with Martin Way, northward for a distance of 20 metres;

    • (b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicles in the roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.

  3. The restrictions will apply only during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  4. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

  5. Nothing in the Order will apply to:

    • (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(VARIOUS ROADS) (CYCLE HIRE, PARKING PLACE MARKING) (B3) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to enable carriageway marking works they have made Orders to restrict parking on certain lengths of the roads specified in the Schedules to this Notice, subject to the results of consultation.

  2. During the works no person shall cause or permit any unauthorised vehicle to wait, load or unload in various lengths of the roads specified in the Schedules to this Notice. Existing marked parking places in the various lengths of the said roads will be suspended.

  3. The works are expected to commence on 17 March 2025 and be carried out on a rolling basis. Notices will be posted on the roads before the works are expected to take place and cones will be in place the day before.

  4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such an extent as indicated by the placing of prescribed signs.

  5. Nothing in the Orders will apply to:

    • (a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or

    • (b) any person or vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or

    • (c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

  6. The Orders will come into operation on 17 March 2025 and each Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 12 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

  7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
