Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under S81, 82(2), 83(2), 84(1)(a) and (2) and Part IV and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)
Effect of the order:
- To Extend: a ‘30mph Speed Limit’ (Currently a 40mph Speed Limit)

Schedules 1 and 2 of ‘The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Epping Forest) (40MPH, Restricted Road, 20MPH Speed Limit & Zone) Order 2012’ will be revoked by this Order, any restrictions unaffected by these proposals will be continued in force by the new Order.

Notice of Confirmation of an Order
Highways Act 1980
Public Path Diversion Order 2025
Footpath 23 Bobbingworth
On 27 February 2025, Essex County Council confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the order as confirmed, as shown on the order map, will divert a part length of Footpath 23 Bobbingworth of unknown width, shown by a bold continuous line on the order map.
The diversion will commence from a point located in a wooded area close to the northwest boundary of the property known as New Barns Cottage, running southeast through a garden and then a paddock area for a total distance of 135 metres to a point on a path adjacent to the paddock area where it continues unaffected.
The alternative route, 2 metres in width, is shown by a bold broken line on the order map, starting at the same point in the wooded area and running:
- Southerly direction between a wooded area and the garden fence for 42 metres, reaching the southwest corner of the garden boundary.
- Westerly direction between the garden and paddock areas for 52 metres, ending near the southeast corner of the garden boundary.
- Along a path on the western side of the paddock area for a final distance of 67 metres to rejoin the original footpath at the endpoint where it continues unaffected.

The alternative route will come into force on 27 March 2025, and the old route shall be stopped up from 3 April 2025. If a person aggrieved by the orders wants to question their validity, or that of any provision contained in them, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act, as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 13 March 2025, make an application to the High Court.
Notice of Variation given under sections 35C and 46A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 of On-Street Parking Permit Charges in the Epping Forest District Area

Notice is hereby given that the Colchester City Council, as the lead authority for The North Essex Parking Partnership, itself acting as agents for the highway authority Essex County Council, Colchester City Council intends, not less than 21 days from the date of this notice, to vary the above Order relating to fees and charges under Section 35C and 46A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. It is intended that the changes will take place on 7th April 2025.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close Footpath 62, Buckhurst Hill, in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 9 metres from its junction with Cascade Close, northwest for approximately 45 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 24 March 2025 and last until 26 March 2025, or where appropriate signes are showing and weather permitting
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while a new water connection is undertaken.
Alternative route:
Via Cascade Close, Hornbeam Close, Oak Rise, Chestnut Close, and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 24 March 2025 and may continue for up to 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier.
(Bridleway 31, Bridleway 18, Footpath 20, Footpath 28 Lambourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close Bridleway 31, Bridleway 18, Footpath 20, and Footpath 28 in the District of Epping Forest.
All diversions for these closures will be signed on-site and will use other footpaths, bridleways, or carriageways.Location Description Bridleway 31 From its junction with FP20, west approximately 660 metres Bridleway 18 From its junction with FP31, north to its junction with Manor Road Footpath 28 From its junction with BR18, north to junction with Manor Road Footpath 20 From its junction with FP31, southwest approximately 825 metres The closures are scheduled to commence on 24 March 2025 and continue until 30 May 2025, weather permitting.
These closures are necessary for public safety while the replacement of the culvert and headwalls takes place. Bridleway 31 will also be resurfaced.
(Bury Lane, Epping) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close Bury Lane, Epping, in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 60m northwest of its junction with High Road, for a distance of approximately 55m in a northwesterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410259359 – Affinity Water).
The scheduled dates may vary depending on the progress of the works, with appropriate signs displayed on-site and/or on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap and boundary works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
Alternative route:
Via Bury Lane, High Road, High Street, Palmers Hill, Lindsey Street, and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 20th March 2025 and may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works have been completed, whichever is earlier.
(High Road, Chigwell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Hainault Road, Chigwell & Gravel Lane, Chigwell) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
Temporary Road Closure:
- To temporarily close High Road, Chigwell (District of Epping Forest) from its junction with Green Lane for approximately 100m in a southwesterly direction.
Temporary Suspension of 7.5T Weight Restriction on Gravel Lane:
- To suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on Gravel Lane, Chigwell (District of Epping Forest) from its junction with Abridge Road to its junction with Pudding Lane for approximately 2800m.
- This is cited in the “Epping Forest District Council (Roding Valley Area) (Weight and Width Restriction) Order 1992” and will apply only for the duration of the closure.
Temporary Suspension of 7.5T Weight Restriction on Hainault Road:
- To suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on Hainault Road, Chigwell (District of Epping Forest) from its junction with High Road to its junction with Manor Road, a distance of approximately 1092m.
- This is cited in the “Epping Forest District Council (Various Roads, Chigwell) (Weight Restriction) Order 1984” and will apply only for the duration of the closure.
Schedule & Purpose:
- The closure/suspensions are scheduled to commence on 7th April 2025 for 7 days, or as stated on a valid permit (MU091NLM081035130-0090 – Thames Water).
- The scheduled dates may vary based on progress, with appropriate signs displayed on-site and/or on one.network.
- The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while main reinforcement works are undertaken by Thames Water.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.

The Order will come into effect on 20th March 2025 and may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works have been completed, whichever is earlier.
(Roding Lane, Chigwell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close Roding Lane, Chigwell, in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 390m northwest of its junction with High Road for a distance of approximately 45m in a northwesterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th April 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MU091NLD00081242716-0085 – Thames Water).
The scheduled dates may vary based on progress, with appropriate signs displayed on-site and/or on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while disconnection works are undertaken by Thames Water.

(Shernbroke Road, Waltham Abbey) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close Shernbroke Road, Waltham Abbey, in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Caneland Court to its junction with Maynard Court, a distance of approximately 50m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th April 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC325NRSHENBROKEV9215 – Openreach).
The scheduled dates may vary depending on progress, with appropriate signs displayed on-site and/or on one.network.

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close Westbury Lane, Buckhurst Hill, in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Palmerston Road to its junction with Queens Road, a distance of approximately 640m.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th April 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2376186 – Essex County Council).
The scheduled dates may vary depending on progress, with appropriate signs displayed on-site and/or on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
Alternative route:
Via Queens Road, High Road, Palmerston Road, and vice versa.
