What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LADIES GROVE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Ladies Grove, St Albans from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.123 Ladies Grove north eastwards for a distance of approximately 10m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Ladies Grove, Downedge, Batchwood Drive, Links View and Ladies Grove.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN RADLETT AND ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:

  1. That length of Folly Pathway, Radlett from its junction with Gills Hill Lane north westwards to its junction with Folly Close, a distance of approximately 76m.

    • There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
  2. That length of Folly Close, Radlett from its junction with Folly Pathway south westwards and north westwards for its entire length.

    • There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
  3. That length of Woodstock Road South, St Albans from its junction with A1057 Hatfield Road northwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Brampton Road, a distance of approximately 263m.

    • An alternative route will be via A1057 Hatfield Road, Sandfield Road and Brampton Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VAUGHAN MEAD, REDBOURN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Vaughan Mead, Redbourn from its junction with Flamsteadbury Lane north eastwards and south eastwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BUTT FIELD VIEW, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Butt Field View, St Albans from a point in line with the western boundary of No.48 Butt Field View south eastwards for a distance of approximately 10m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Butt Field View, Robert Avenue, Warren Road, Gillian Avenue and Butt Field View.

The Order is needed because carriageway works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 31 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS FOOTPATHS HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath (“the Footpaths”):

  1. The footpath situated between No.54 and No.56 Coleswood Road, Harpenden from its junction with Coleswood Road south eastwards to its junction with Linwood Road, a distance of approximately 28m.

    • An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south east side of Coleswood Road, the footway situated on the south west side of Grove Road, the footway situated on the north west and north sides of Broadstone Road, and the footway situated on the west side of Linwood Road.
  2. The footpath situated between No.10 and No.12 Linwood Road, Harpenden from its junction with Linwood Road north eastwards to its junction with Tarrant Drive, a distance of approximately 70m.

    • An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of Linwood Road, the footway situated on the north side of Broadstone Road, and the footway situated on the east side of Tarrant Drive.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpaths.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 April 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpaths.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SOUTH RIDING, BRICKET WOOD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of South Riding, Bricket Wood from its junction with West Riding south eastwards to its junction with The Crescent, a distance of approximately 159m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via West Riding, North Riding, Oak Avenue and South Riding.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 April 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ORCHARD DRIVE, PARK STREET) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Orchard Drive, Park Street from its junction with St Stephen Public Footpath No.077 north eastwards for a distance of approximately 202m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Orchard Drive, Mayflower Road, Penn Road and Orchard Drive.

The Order is needed because utility connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HOLLYBUSH LANE, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hollybush Lane, Harpenden from its junction with Sun Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 59m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Sun Lane, A1081 Luton Road, and Hollybush Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GILLS HILL LANE AND RENDLESHAM AVENUE, RADLETT) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:

  1. That length of Gills Hill Lane, Radlett from a point 24m north west of its junction with Rendlesham Avenue south eastwards for a distance of approximately 59m.

    • An alternative route will be via Gills Hill Lane, Willow Way, B462 Watford Road, New Road, Loom Lane, and Gills Hill Lane.
  2. That length of Rendlesham Avenue, Radlett from its junction with Gills Hill Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 15m.

    • There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED BETWEEN NO.54 AND NO.56 COLESWOOD ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated between No.54 and No.56 Coleswood Road, Harpenden from its junction with Coleswood Road south eastwards to its junction with Linwood Drive, a distance of approximately 28m (“the Footpath”).

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south east side of Coleswood Road, the footway situated on the south west side of Grove Road, the footway situated on the north west side of Broadstone Road, and the footway situated on the north east side of Linwood Drive.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 14 March 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, LETCHMORE HEATH) (20 MPH ZONE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (1984 Act) to introduce a new 20 mph speed limit zone in parts of Letchmore Heath as specified in the Schedule to this Notice. The Order will come into effect on Friday 14 March 2025.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order may be viewed from 13 March 2025 to 24 April 2025 during office hours at Main Reception, County Hall, Hertford or online at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting Hertsmere and looking at Ref: H00324.
