ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (C290 Rocks Hill, Salehurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Rocks Hill – from the junction with C290 Spring Hill to the junction with C290 Church Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C290 Spring Hill – C19 Bodiam Road – A21(T) Silverhill, Northbridge Street roundabout – C290 Church Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 18 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 and 19 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

St Michaels Place, Hastings) 

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Prospect Place/St Michaels Place – from the junction with A21 Cambridge Road to the junction with U3162 White Rock Gardens.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A21 Cambridge Road – U3160 White Rock Road – U3162 White Rock Gardens.

The Order commences 17 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 19 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C213 Sheepstreet Lane, Etchingham)  (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Sheepstreet Lane – from the junction with C213 Church Lane to the junction with C83 Wardsbrook Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C83 Myskyns Road – C212 Battenhurst Road, Shrub Lane – A265 Etchingham Road, Straight Mile, High Street – U6196 Burgh Hill – U6895 Fysie Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 March and 4 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C20 Village Street, Ewhurst) 

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Village Street – from the junction with C979 Tufton Lane to the junction with U6621 Soggs Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C979 Tufton Lane – C97 Yewtree Hill, Adams Lane – B2165 Northiam Road – C19 Bodiam Road, Rock Hill – C20 Shoreham Lane, Village Street and vice versa.

The Order commenced 25 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 20 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6624 Eatenden Lane, Mountfield)  (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Eatenden Lane – from the junction with U6624 Solomons Lane to 2 Railway Cottages.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6624 Eatenden Lane – C96 Netherfield Road, Netherfield Hill, Netherfield Road – A2100 London Road – U6413 New Cut – U6623 Hoath Hill and vice versa.

The Order commenced 17 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 and 17 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C22 Crazy Lane, Sedlescombe)  (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which continued the closure on the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Crazy Lane – from the junction with A21(T) New Road to the junction with C22 Chapel Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A21(T) New Road – B2244 Tollgate Road – C22 Chapel Hill and vice versa.

The Order commenced 27 December 2024 and was made following the issuing of a Temporary Notice and a Temporary Successive Notice under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 March and 26 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3162 Trinity Street, Hastings)  (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Trinity Street – from the junction with U3162 Robertson Street to the junction with U3162 Claremont.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3162 Claremont, Robertson Street.

To maintain access a suspension of one way traffic on Claremont will be in place (revert to two way traffic), during these works.

The Order commences 20 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 20 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2165 Beckley Road, Northiam)  (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Beckley Road – from the junction with B2165 The Stream to the junction with A28 Well House Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2165 The Stream, Clayhill – B2088 Rye Road – A28 Hastings Road, Perryman Cross, Well House Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 1 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The East Sussex (C22 The Moor/Three Oaks Road, Westfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

The Moor/Three Oaks Road – from the junction with C414 Stonestile Lane to the junction with C639 Ivyhouse Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C414 Stonestile Lane – B2093 The Ridge – C639 Chowns Hill, Ivyhouse Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 28 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

Potmans Lane – from the junction with C345 Church Road to the junction with A269 Ninfield Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C345 Church Road, Watermill Lane – A2691 Haven Brook Avenue – A269 Ninfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 31 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 31 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C639 Chowns Hill, Hastings)  (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C639 Ivyhouse Lane – C638 Rock Lane – U3246 Red Lake Terrace – A259 Rye Road – B2093 Old London Road, The Ridge and vice versa.

The Order commences 31 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 31 March and 4 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2089 Chitcombe Road, Tank Hill, Whorne Woods, Catts Green, Swailes Green, Hooks Beech, Park Lane – A21(T) Woodmans Green Road, Hastings Road, New Road, Whydown Hill, Kent Street, Ebdens Hill – A28 Westfield Lane, Church Lane, Main Road, Brede Road, Cackle Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 1 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 17 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL THE EAST SUSSEX (PUBLIC FOOTPATH BEXHILL 140,

BEXHILL 141, BEXHILL 142) PUBLIC PATH CREATION AND

DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above Order, made on 7 March 2025, under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, will create three footpaths and modify the definitive map and statement for the Rother area as follows:

A public footpath with an arbitrary centre line as shown on the Order Plan between points A - B. Commencing at Arthur Road at TQ 7358 0797 with a width of 2.75 metres. Continuing in a northerly direction for 11 metres over an existing tarmac path with a varying width of between 0.8 and 3 metres to Bexhill 116 at TQ 7358 0798 with a width of 6 metres. A public footpath with an arbitrary centre line as shown on the Order Plan between points C - D. Commencing at Bexhill 116 at point C at TQ 7362 0799 with a width of 1.5 metres. Continuing in a north easterly direction for 29 metres over an existing tarmac path with a varying width of between 1.2 and 3 metres to Little Common Road at point D at TQ 7364 0801. The width at point D is 3.5 metres.

A public footpath with an arbitrary centre line as shown on the Order Plan between points E – F - G. Commencing at Little Common Road at point E at TQ 7365 0802 with a width of 3 metres. Continuing in a north easterly direction for 35 metres over an existing tarmac path with a varying width of 3 to 2 metres to point F at TQ 7368 0804. The width at point F is 2 metres. Continuing in a northerly direction for 32 metres to TQ 7368 0807 over an existing tarmac path with a width of 2 metres. Continuing in a westerly direction for 2 metres to TQ 7368 0808 over an existing tarmac path with a width of 2.7 metres. Continuing in a northerly direction for 1.5 metres over an existing tarmac path to Down Road at point G at TQ 7368 0808 with a width of 2.7 metres. The width at point G is 2.7 metres.

The total length of public footpath to be added is 110.5 metres.

A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be seen free of charge in Reception, East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 1UE from 9am to 5pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-4.30pm on Fridays between 14 March 2025 and 14 April 2025. Copies of the Order and Order Plan can also be viewed at Rother District Council, Town Hall, London Road, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, TN39 3JX between the hours of 9am and 4:30pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10am-4.30pm Wednesday and 9am to 4pm Friday. Copies of the Order and Order Plan can also be requested by emailing definitive.map@ eastsussex.gov.uk quoting reference ‘Bexhill 140,141,142’.

Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to Rights of Way, East Sussex County Council, Communities, Economy and Transport, West Block B Floor, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes BN7 1UE or by emailing definitive. map@eastsussex.gov.uk, quoting reference ‘Bexhill 140,141,142’ not later than 14 April 2025. Applicants are requested to state the grounds on which an objection is made.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the East Sussex County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
