What is happening?

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Halton Borough Council intends to make, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, the following Orders under Section 14(1) Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The Borough Of Halton (Chester Road, Daresbury) (Temporary Prohibition Or Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2025

Road(s) affected: Chester Road, Daresbury Effect of the Order: during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in or along the road.

Date Order to come into effect: 1 April 2025
Maximum duration of the Order: 18 months from the date the Order comes into effect.

Note: the closure is required to carry out carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works at the junction of A56.

Several closures will be in place on various dates, yet to be confirmed. 

Advanced warning signs will be installed once the start date is finalised.

The Borough Of Halton (Factory Lane, Widnes) (Temporary Prohibition Or Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2025

Road(s) affected: Factory Lane, Widnes - access to allotment gardens

Effect of the Order: during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in or along the road and no person shall during the works period enter or proceed in or along the road.

Date Order to come into effect: 31 March 2025

Maximum duration of the Order: 6 months from the date the Order comes into effect.

Note: the closure is to allow for a detailed bridge examination and is expected to be over a period of approximately 3 days.

The Borough Of Halton (Sankey Canal Tow Path, Widnes) (Temporary Prohibition Or Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2025

Road(s) affected: Sankey Canal Tow Path, Widnes - from Tanhouse Lane to Spike Island.

Effect of the Order: during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs no person shall during the works period enter or proceed in or along the road.

Date Order to come into effect: 31 March 2025

Maximum duration of the Order: 6 months from the date the Order comes into effect.

Note: the closure is required for resurfacing and will take approximately 33 days.

Reason for making the Orders: the Council is satisfied that traffic on the roads should be prohibited and/or restricted because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads.

Alternative Routes: where available suitably signed alternative route(s) will be provided.
