Parish of Falstone (Public Footpath No 23) Diversion Order (No 2) 2024
The above Order was made on 11th December 2024, and was Confirmed on 28th February 2025 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order will be as follows:-
Public Footpath No 23 (Parish of Falstone)
To extinguish the footpath from a point 1370 metres north of Whickhope Boat House (NY 6752 8742) in a generally westerly direction for a distance of 1600 metres to point 790 metres south-east of Kielder Waterside Visitor Centre (NY 6645 8710).
To extinguish the footpath from a point 645 metres south-east of Kielder Waterside Visitor Centre (NY 6644 8723), in a generally northerly direction for a distance of 500 metres, then westerly for a distance of 795 metres to the Mounces Burn, then in a northerly direction for a distance of 300 metres to a point 450 metres north-west of Kielder Waterside Visitor Centre (NY 6573 8810).
To create a 2 metre wide footpath from a point on the Kielder Lakeside Way, 1370 metres north of Whickhope Boat House (NY 6752 8742) in a generally westerly direction for a distance of 1720 metres to point 790 metres south-east of Kielder Waterside Visitor Centre (NY 6645 8710).
To create a 2 metre wide footpath from a point on the Kielder Lakeside Way, 645 metres south-east of Kielder Waterside Visitor Centre (NY 6644 8723), in a general northerly direction for a distance of 415 metres then in a general westerly direction for a distance of 510 metres to the Kielder Waterside access road, then in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 220 metres along the access road and car park road then continuing on the Kielder Lakeside Way in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 180 metres to Mounces Burn then in a general northerly direction for a distance of 310 metres to a point 450 metres north-west of Kielder Waterside Visitor Centre (NY 6573 8810).
These details are shown on the Order map. A copy of the Order and map has been placed and may be seen free of charge during normal opening hours at The Queens Hall, Beaumont Street, Hexham, NE46 3LS and at Main Reception, County Hall, Morpeth, and during normal working hours, where the Order and map may be purchased. The Order comes into force on 4th April 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wishes to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, or that any requirement of that Act, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with, they may within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published i.e. the 13th March 2025 make an application to the High Court.
