What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BRINDLE ROAD, BAMBER BRIDGE, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Brindle Road, Bamber Bridge from Bank Head Lane, Bamber Bridge to the Southern boundary of the property 390 Brindle Road.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 2300 hours on Saturday 22nd March 2025 until 0700 hours on Sunday 23rd March 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Pedestrian and cycle access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Brindle Road, Bamber Bridge – Cottage Lane, Bamber Bridge – School Lane, Bamber Bridge – Station Road, Bamber Bridge – Lostock Lane, Bamber Bridge – Church Road, Bamber Bridge – Preston Road, Bamber Bridge – Four Oaks Road, Bamber Bridge – Tramway Lane, Bamber Bridge – Kellet Lane, Bamber Bridge and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow annual level crossing inspection works to be carried out by Centurion Site Services in conjunction with Network Rail.
