What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
U9511 MIDDLETON TERRACE BACK LANE BLYTH
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U9511 Middleton Terrace Back Lane Blyth from the gable end of 28 Union Street for a distance of 55 metres in a westerly direction in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 7th April 2025 until the 18th April 2025.
It is expected that the road will be closed from the 7th April 2025 until the 11th April 2025 at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until the 18th April 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being B1327, U9511 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumbrian Water for a new water connection for a new ground floor apartment. Excavation across the carriageway is required to the location of the water main. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
