Shropshire - Various Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S –      

PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING      

         
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“The Council”) have made an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of roads as stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted
horse riders unless stated below.  The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.         
         
The Order/s came into force on 17th March 2025 and will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works are completed, whichever is earlier.  However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative for the duration as stated below.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Bronygarth Road, Weston Rhyn
Date & Duration: 20th March 2025 for 1 day between 07:00 to 18:00
Purpose: Road Closure - MJ Quinn are to provide 1 x pole in footway.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North, B4500, High Street, Quinta Crescent, Bronygarth Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Chatwell Lane, Blymhill
Date & Duration: 17th March 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-Tree trimming - No excavation
Alternative Route : B5314, A41, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road East, Bun Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Clay Lane, Seifton
Date & Duration: 17th March 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-remedial works
Alternative Route : B4368, B4365


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Hints Meadow, Coreley
Date & Duration: 17th March 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Short New connection
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road North


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using New Park Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 23rd March 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, replace defective manhole cover.
Alternative Route : New Park Road, St Michaels Street, Sultan Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4364 Cross Houses to Lower Faintree (Wallsbatch Bridge)
Date & Duration: 17th March 2025 for 3 days closure will be 24 hrs, 20th March 2025 for 2 days 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Bridge Repairs to include Repointing areas of abutments. Repointing arch as agreed with WPS. Replacing drainage to downstream left. Reinstatement of gabion baskets to downstream
left and rectify washout. Replace/repair OBB barrier to downstream end.
Alternative Route : B4364, B4373, B4363, A4117, B4364


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road, Stottesdon (Chorley Bridge)
Date & Duration: 17th March 2025 for 2 days between 08:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Bridge repair works to include replace broken superstructure drainage outfall. Cut back vegetation to downstream wing walls to allow proper inspection. Clear silt from invert through structure and 5m upstream and downstream. Repair additional damage to parapet - displaced coppings.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West, Riddings Lane, Unnamed road East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A458 Victoria Road, Much Wenlock
Date & Duration: 21st March 2025 for 3 nights 20:00 to 06:00
Purpose: Remedial works to carriageway.
Alternative Route : A458, B4368, A49, B4371


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Hardwickforge Lane, Stottesdon
Date & Duration: 17th March 2025 for 4 days between 08:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Bridge parapet repairs
Alternative Route : Station Road, Unnamed road South, Unnamed road West through Prescott, Unnamed road North


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Pulverbatch to Bridges
Date & Duration: 17th March 2025 for 3 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West, A489, A488, B4380, Longden Road, Unnamed road South West through Hook A Gate, Annscroft and Longden


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road at Upper Longwood Bridge, Eaton Constantine
Date & Duration: 19th March 2025 for 2 days between 08:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Bridge repairs
Alternative Route : B4380, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road South East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Sutton Lane, Sutton
Date & Duration: 19th March 2025 between 09:30 to 14:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Tree Trimming
Alternative Route : A529, Walkmill Road, Unnamed road South West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Wentnor and A489
Date & Duration: 17th March 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water- Sluice Valve Rebuild chamber
Alternative Route : A489, Unnamed road North, Unnamed road East, Unnamed road North towards Norbury, Unnamed road East and South East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Wilcott and Felton Butler
Date & Duration: 17th March 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Freedom Fibre, desilt multiple sections with reactive civils if required.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road North East, The Old A5, Unnamed road West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Wilcott and Pentre, Wilcott
Date & Duration: 21st March 2025 for 5 days between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Freedom Fibre, repair multiple blockages on existing network.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road North West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road, Asterley to Malehurst
Date & Duration: 17th March 2025 for 3 days between 09:30 to 14:45
Purpose: Bridge Repairs to:- Malehurst No.1 Bridge:- Repair to steel parapet Malehurst No.2 Bridge:- ground investigations which will require 2 no. boreholes
Alternative Route : A488, Horsebridge Road, Unnamed road South East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Watling Street, Craven Arms
Date & Duration: 19th March 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent water-new water connection
Alternative Route : Watling Street, Clun Road, A49, Long Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Pantglas, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 17th March 2025 for 31 days
Purpose: Road Closure due to collapsed carriageway.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road North and North East, Unnamed road West



Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from travelling at more than 30 mph on the A488
Hope Valley, as per signage
Date & Duration: 17th March 2025 for 195 days
Purpose: Speed Restriction to 30mph on A488 Hope for safety reasons.
Alternative Route : Not applicable


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between B4176 and Stableford
Date & Duration: 20th March 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Pole testing
Alternative Route : B4176, Unnamed road North East towards Stableford
