Arundel Street - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Arundel Street) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.47) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 17th March 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
ARUNDEL STREET
From its junction with Murefield Road to Clifton Street
From its junction with Clifton Street to Fratton Road.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate survey works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 17th March 2025 to 22nd March 2025 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 19:00 - 06:00 Monday to Friday. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage and letters to residents in advance of works taking place.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Fratton Road, Fratton Bridge Roundabout, Victoria Road North, Bradford Junction Roundabout, Holbrook Road, Arundel Street Roundabout, Arundel Street and Fratton Road, Lake Road, Lake Road Roundabout, Holbrook Road, Arundel Street Roundabout, Arundel Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
