What is happening?

U9517 LEAHOLME CRESCENT FOOTWAY BLYTH
(TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by pedestrian traffic on that section of the U9517 Leaholme Crescent Footway, Blyth from its junction with Leaholme Crescent heading westwards for a distance of 35 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 24th March 2025 until the 25th April 2025.
It is expected that the footway will only be closed from the 24th March 2025 until the 28th March 2025 between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 25th April 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via Leaholme Crescent, Trevelyan Avenue, U9517 Isabella Colliery Road Footway and vice-versa. Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The footway closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to install a new street lighting column and carry out trenching works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
