Temporary Closure of Bishops Hull Road and Comeytrowe Lane

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Bishops Hull Road (31st March 2025 - 27th June 2025) - from the junction with Stonegallows, northwards for a distance of 322 metres; and Comeytrowe Lane (27th May 2025 - 9th June 2025) - from the junction with Stonegallows, southwards for a distance of 103 metres. A total distance of 425 metres. This Order will enable Wales & West to replace gas mains.

The Order becomes effective on 27th March 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 31st March 2025 and last until 27th June 2025 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 89 days.

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
