CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2024 (VARIATION NO.2)
ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that on 10 March 2025 the Borough Council of Calderdale (“the Council”) in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) made the Borough Council of Calderdale
(On-Street Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) Order 2024 (Variation No.2) Order 2025, the effect of which will be as follows:
Hebden Bridge
Central Street (north side, west of Hilton Street) – change existing parking bays to shared residents parking at all times or short stay Pay & Display parking Mon-Sun (inc. Bank Holidays) 8am-8pm Max. stay 1 hour, no return within 2 hours (£0.20 for 30 mins, £0.40 per hour). Central Street (south side, east of Hilton Street) – introduce a shared resident parking/short stay Pay & Display parking bay as detailed above, and No Waiting at Any Time (double yellow lines) to protect access/dropped kerb crossing points.
Central Street (south side) – change existing School Keep Clear restriction to a loading only bay (at all times) and No Waiting at Any Time and No Loading at Any Time. Hilton Street – change existing limited waiting parking bay to loading only (at all times).
Salem Street – change existing limited waiting parking bay to shared parking (disabled parking all days 8am-8pm, and resident parking all days 8pm-8am).
Fielding Street – (west side) – introduce residents parking at all times or limited waiting Mon-Sun 8am-8pm Max Stay 1 hour, no return within 2 hours, and No Waiting at Any Time to remaining extents.
Holme Street – existing short stay limited waiting parking bay to become short stay Pay & Display parking Mon-Sun (inc. Bank Holidays) 8am-8pm. Max. stay 1 hour, no return within 2 hours (£0.20 for 30 mins, £0.40 per hour); existing long stay Pay & Display parking to become short stay Pay & Display parking as detailed above.
Valley Road – existing unrestricted parking to become long stay Pay & Display parking Mon-Sun (inc. Bank Holidays) 8am-8pm (£0.90 per hour); existing Pay & Display parking to be revoked and No Waiting at Any Time restriction extended; additional No Waiting at Any Time sections to protect access/dropped kerb crossing points. Hangingroyd Lane – No Waiting at Any Time sections to protect access/dropped kerb crossing points.
Todmorden
Station Approach – existing unrestricted parking to become long stay Pay & Display parking Mon-Sat, 8am-6pm (£0.50 per hour) on both sides of the road; existing limited waiting parking to be revoked and replaced with No Waiting at Any Time restrictions; unrestricted section to have No Waiting at Any Time introduced.
The Order will come into effect on 17 March 2025. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, including the statement of reasons and plans showing the affected roads, are available for inspection at Halifax Central Library, Halifax, HX1 1QG, from 10.00 am to
5.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays and 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on Saturdays. Alternatively copies of the documents can be viewed on the Council’s website at https://new.calderdale.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made (i.e. 10 March 2025) apply to the High Court for this purpose.
