What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC
REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1)
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC PART OF BLACKTOFT LANE, BLACKTOFT
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along part of Blacktoft Lane, Blacktoft from its junction with Old Lane eastbound for a distance of approximately 1300 metres commencing
12 May 2025 until 16 May 2025 to allow for the installation of ducting and chambers for the new BDUK fibre network on behalf of Quickline Communications works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed within five days. The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via:
Greenoak Lane, Bellasize Lane, Staddlethorpe Broad Lane, Sparrowcroft Lane and Blacktoft Lane.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic but access will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
