School Road - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
On 3 March 2025 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on road network improvements) on School Road, Newmains from its junction with A73 Main Street to its junction with Church Avenue a distance of 180m or thereby by reason of works being executed on or near that location.
Alternative routes: Vehicles on the north side of the closure wishing access to the south side of the closure should proceed via School Road, A722 Manse Road and A73 Main Street. Vehicles on the south side of the closure wishing access to the north side of the closure should proceed vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be permitted at all times.
Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure. The Order, will come into operation at 0001 hours on Monday, 17th March 2025 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Sunday, 13th April 2025.
