What is happening?

EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
UNION STREET, POCKLINGTON

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceeding along part of Union Street,
Pocklington between its junction with Market Place
to The Avenue commencing 24 March 2025 until
28 March 2025 between the hours of 18.00 hours
until 23.00 hours Monday to Friday (phase 1)
and part of Union Street, Pocklington between its
junctions with The Avenue to Bridge Street/London
Street commencing 28 March 2025 until 22 April
2025 between the hours of 09.00 hours until 17.00
hours (phase 2) Monday to Friday. The reason for
the closure is to enable the proposed carriageway/
footway maintenance works, to be carried out and
completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will
be completed within 30 days. The alternative route
for traffic affected by the Order is via Bridge Street,
Chapmangate and Market Street, Pocklington CP,
Pocklington Provincial Ward. The road will be closed
to all through traffic, but access will be maintained at all
times for residents, emergency services and pedestrians.
The Order will commence 24 March 2025 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
