1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Councilhave on the 12 March 2025 made an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which has the following effect:-
(a) The temporary closure of the north and southbound cycle lanes on Preston Road from the junction with Stanford Avenue to the southern junction with South Road.
(b) The temporary suspension of the northbound bus lane on Preston Road from the northern junction with Grange Close for its entire length to allow traffic to use it whilst the running lane is closed.
(c) The temporary closure of Preston Road at its junction with Stanford Avenue.
2. The Order is necessary to allow contractors to improve Cycle Lanes, pedestrian areas and side road access. Install new signalised pedestrian crossings. Carriageway and footway resurfacing. As part of the A23 Active Travel Scheme.
3. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
4. This Order comes into force on 17 March 2025 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which is anticipated to be 29 June 2025.
