What is happening?

A255 St Peters Road, Margate, CT9 4HJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A255 St Peters Road, Margate, on or after 17th March 2025 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 3 Drapers Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 St Peters Road, B2052 College Road, A254 Ramsgate Road, Poorhole Lane, A256 Westwood Road, A255 Dane Court Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

B2052 York Street & B2052 Charlotte Street, Broadstairs, CT10 1LS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2052 York Street & B2052 Charlotte Street, Broadstairs, on or after 1st April 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

B2052 York Street will be closed outside number 4, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order for B2052 York Street will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order for B2052 Charlotte Street will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2052 High Street, A255 Queens Road, York Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Carroways Place, Margate, CT9 4GA(PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Carroways Place, Margate, on or after 17th March 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 1 to outside number 5, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cornwall Gardens, Margate, CT9 2LA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cornwall Gardens, Margate, on or after 17th March 2025 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of B2051 Eastern Esplanade and Lonsdale Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2051 Eastern Esplanade, Devonshire Gardens, Lonsdale Avenue, Cornwall Gardens and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Edith Road, Ramsgate, CT11 0ET (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Edith Road, Ramsgate, on or after 30th March 2025 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 51, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Napleton Road, Southwood Road, Queen Bertha Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Lorne Road, Ramsgate, CT11 0AB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lorne Road, Ramsgate, on or after 30th March 2025 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 33, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Maynard Avenue, Margate, CT9 5PX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Maynard Avenue, Margate, on or after 31st March 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 5 to the junction of B2052 George V Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2052 George V Avenue, Westfield Road, Maynard Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Northumberland Avenue, Margate, CT9 3BN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Northumberland Avenue, Margate, on or after 1st April 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 53, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Northdown Road, Princes Gardens, Rutland Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Potten Street, Birchington, CT7 0QR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Potten Street, Birchington, on or after 24th March 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Potten Street Road for approximately 60m Northwards, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

THANET AREA

Shottendane Road, Birchington, CT7 0HR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Shottendane Road, Birchington, on or after 2nd April 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Sparrow Castle, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2050 Manston Road, B2050 Manston Road East, Manston Road, Shottendane Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Westbury Road, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8SS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow vegetation clearance to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Westbury Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 18th March 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Mildreds Road, A28 Canterbury Road, The Grove and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
