Dover, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

A256 London Road & A256 Crabble Hill, Dover (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A256 London Road & A256 Crabble Hill, Dover, on or after 23rd March 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only.

A256 London Road will be closed between the junctions of Old Park Avenue and Pilgrims Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

A256 Crabble Hill will be closed between the junctions of Old Park Avenue and Carlsden Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A256 London Road, A256 Whitfield Hill, A2 between Whitfield Roundabout and junction with A256, A2 between junction with A256 and Duke Of Yorks Roundabout, A2 Jubilee Way, A20 Townwall Street, A256 York Street, A256 Priory Road, A256 High Street, A256 London Road and A256 Crabble Hill.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A256 Crabble Hill, A256 Buckland Avenue, A256 Barton Road, A256 Frith Road, A256 Charlton Green, A256 Maison Dieu Road, A20 Townwall Street, A2 Jubilee Way, A2 between junction with A256 and Duke Of Yorks Roundabout, A2 between Whitfield Roundabout and junction with A256, A256 Whitfield Hill and A256 London Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Barfrestone Road, Barfrestone, CT15 7JJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Barfrestone Road, Barfrestone, on or after 17th March 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Barfrestone Court for approximately 100m in a Southerly direction, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Barfrestone Road, Church Hill, Shepherdswell Road, Eythorne Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bevan Close, Deal, CT14 9DR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bevan Close, Deal, on or after 17th March 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Chapel Road, Tilmanstone, CT14 0JG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chapel Road, Tilmanstone, on or after 21st March 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Lower Street and Upper Street, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chapel Road, Dover Road, St Marys Grove, Upper Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Elmstone, Preston, CT3 1HE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Elmstone, Preston, on or after 3rd April 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Padbrook Lane to outside Springpould, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Elmstone, Church Hill, Nash Road, A257 Ash Bypass, A257 Pedding Hill, A257 Roman Road, A257 Gobery Hill, Preston Hill, Preston Road, Preston Lane, The Street, Longmete Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

High Street, Eastry, CT13 0HB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Street, Eastry, on or after 31st March 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Noyna, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, Sandwich Road, A256 Eastry Bypass, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C237 Venson Road To Entry A256 Roundabout, Dover Road, Lower Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Hills Court Road, Ash, CT3 2AP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hills Court Road, Ash, on or after 30th March 2025 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 4 Twitham Court Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hills Court Road, A257 Ash Bypass, Cooper Street Drove and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Long Lane, Shepherdswell, CT15 7LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Long Lane, Shepherdswell, on or after 17th March 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Westcourt Downs and Barfrestone Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Long Lane, Eythorne Road, Coxhill, Westcourt Lane, Westcourt Downs and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Mill Lane & Little Haynes, Shepherdswell, CT15 7LU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mill Lane & Little Haynes, Shepherdswell, on or after 2nd April 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only.

Mill Lane will be closed between the junctions of Hazling Dane and Great Haynes, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Little Haynes will be closed at the junction of Mill Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mill Lane, Coldred Road, Church Road, Coldred Road, Great Haynes and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Mill Lane, Worth, CT14 0BD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mill Lane, Worth, on or after 20th March 2025 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Manor House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A258 Deal Road, Felderland Lane, A256 Sandwich Road, Sandwich Road, High Street, The Cross, Brook Street, Hay Hill, Hay Lane, Mill Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Robert Street, Deal, CT14 6AF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Robert Street, Deal, on or after 17th March 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 18, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Water Street, Nelson Street, Duke Street and Robert Street.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Robert Street, Duke Street, High Street and Water Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

School Road, Tilmanstone, CT14 0JW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of School Road, Tilmanstone, on or after 20th March 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed the entire length, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pike Road, Barville Road, Dover Road, Chapel Road, Upper Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Sheerwater Road, Elmstone, CT3 1HJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sheerwater Road, Elmstone, on or after 3rd April 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Padbrook Lane and Church Hill, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sheerwater Road, Padbrook Lane, Church Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Singledge Lane, Whitfield, CT16 3LG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Singledge Lane, Whitfield, on or after 21st March 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 24 to outside number 36, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 Dover Road, Coldred Hill, Church Road, Singledge Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Station Road, Deal, CT14 9JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Station Road, Deal, on or after 30th March 2025 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 122, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Station Road, Cross Road, St Richards Road, Sydney Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Temple Side, Temple Ewell, CT16 3BA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Temple Side, Temple Ewell, on or after 17th March 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 126 to the junction of Downhill Close, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Temple Side, Target Firs, Green Lane, Wellington Road, London Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Butchery, Sandwich (SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow access during town events, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily suspend the one-way Order on part of The Butchery, Sandwich, on or after 1st April 2025.

The restriction will be imposed when it is indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order will be suspended from the junction of Market Street to the private car park, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

Wellington Road, Deal, CT14 7AS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wellington Road, Deal, on or after 17th March 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Blenheim Road, Gilford Road, A258 Victoria Road, A258 Ranelagh Road, A258 Prince of Wales Terrace, A258 Beach Street, South Street and Victoria Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Wellington Road, Temple Ewell, CT16 3AW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wellington Road, Temple Ewell, on or after 21st March 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Rectory to outside Undercroft, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wellington Road, London Road, Temple Side, Target Firs, Green Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Various Roads, Shepherdswell (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Eythorne Road, Shepherdswell, on or after 4th April 2025 for up to 17 days or until the works have been completed.

Eythorne Road will be closed at the junction of Coxhill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Coxhill will be closed at the junction of Eythorne Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Eythorne Road, Shepherdswell Road, Wigmore Lane, Barville Road, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C227 Kennel Hill To C237 Venson Road, A256 Whitfield Bypass, A256 Link Between Whitfield Interchange Roundabouts, A2 Dover Road Slip Westbound On, A2 Between Whitfield Roundabout And Junction With A256, A2 Dover Road and Coxhill.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Coxhill, A2 Dover Road, A2 Between Whitfield Roundabout And Junction With A256, A2 Dover Road Slip Eastbound Off, A256 Whitfield Bypass, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C227 Kennel Hill To C237 Venson Road, Barville Road, Wigmore Lane, Shepherdswell Road and Eythorne Road.

Westcourt Lane will be closed at the junction of Coxhill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Westcourt Lane, Westcourt Downs, Long Lane, Barfrestone Road, Eythorne Road and vice versa.

Church Hill will be closed at the junction of Eythorne Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Hill, Mill Lane, Great Haynes, Eythorne Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Various Roads, Deal (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PROHIBITION OF PARKING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Deal, on or after 31st March 2025 for up to 29 days or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be a rolling closure. Once works are completed on one road works will commence on the next closure, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Middle Street will be closed as a rolling closure at detailed below:

From outside number 70 to outside number 68.

From outside number 68 to outside number 108.

From outside number 108 to outside number 82.

From outside number 82 to outside number 126.

From outside number 110 to outside number 155.

From outside number 155 to outside number 1.

From outside number 1 to outside number 10.

From outside number 10 to outside number 164.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Middle Street, North Street, Beach Street, King Street and vice versa.

Market Street will be closed from outside number 6 to outside number 9.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Market Street, King Street, Beach Street and vice versa.

Chapel Street will be closed from outside number 93 to the junction of Middle Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Middle Street, Oak Street, Beach Street and vice versa.

Oak Street will be closed from outside number 8 to the junction of Beach Street.

West Side - The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, New Street, Middle Street and vice versa.

East Side - The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Middle Street, Brewer Street and Beach Street.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Middle Street, Market Street and High Street.

Farrier Street will be closed from outside number 145 to the junction of Middle Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Middle Street, Coppin Street, Beach Street and vice versa.

New Street will be closed between the junctions of High Street and Middle Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, Farrier Street, Middle Street and vice versa.

Golden Street will be closed between the junctions of Middle Street and Beach Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Middle Street, Silver Street, Beach Street and vice versa.

Griffin Street will be closed between the junctions of Middle Street and Beach Street and between the junction of Middle Street and High Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Middle Street, Silver Street, Beach Street and vice versa.

Exchange Street will be closed from outside number 3 to the junction of Middle Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Middle Street, Griffin Street, Beach Street and vice versa.

Dolphin Street will be closed between the junctions of Middle Street and Beach Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Middle Street, North Street, Beach Street and vice versa.

Sandown Road will be closed from outside number 12 to outside number 20.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandown Road, Harold Road, College Road, Alfred Square and vice versa.

Capstan Row will be closed from outside number 3 to the junction of The Marina.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bulwark Road, Sandown Road, North Street, Beach Street, The Marina and vice versa.

The Marina will be closed from the junction of Capstan Row to outside number 1 to 6 Prince William Court.

A prohibition of parking will be imposed from outside Flats 1 - 21 to outside properties 5-6.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Marina, Godwyn Road, Golf Road, Western Road, Albert Road, A258 London Road, A258 Queen Street, A258 Broad Street, Beach Street and vice versa.

 

Beach Street will be closed from the junction of North Street to outside numbers 1 to 6 Prince William Court.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Marina, Godwyn Road, Golf Road, Western Road, Albert Road, A258 London Road, A258 Queen Street, A258 Broad Street, Beach Street and vice versa.

Union Road will be closed from outside number 28 to the junction of High Street.

The one-way Order will be suspended from outside number 28 to the junction of West Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, College Road, Ark Lane, Western Road, West Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
