SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL SECTION 14 - THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTPATH CLOSURES

SECTION 14 - THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTPATH CLOSURES

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make following orders:

(Footpath 14 Wroughton) This Order was introduced on health and safety grounds due to an unsafe footbridge and will impose a closure of PROW footpath 14 Wroughton. Alternative route from the eastern end of the closure proceeds south along Elcombe, then southwest along Public Footpath 15 Wroughton. then west along Public Bridleway 16 Wroughton and north westwards along Bassett Down to the western end of the closure. The Order came into force on the 1 September 2023 but to allow completion of works the Secretary of State for Transport has approved an application for Order to be extended further until the 1 March 2026.

(STR001025 Body Horse Hill, Hinton Parva) This Order is being introduced for UTILITY works and will impose a prohibition of driving on Body Horse Hill between White Hill and Hatchet Hill. Traffic to be diverted via Hatchett Hill, Callas Hill, Wanborough Road, Body Horse Hill/City Corner and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 8 April 2025 for 6 months, but works are expected to be in place between 8 to 11 April 2025. (STR000958 Lady St Margarets Footbridge, Stratton St Margarets) This Order is being introduced for RESURFACING WORKS and will impose a closure of Lady St Margaret's footbridge. Pedestrian to be diverted via Griffiths Close, Station Halt, Ermin Street, Oxford Road and Sandgate. The Order comes into the force on the 7 April 2025 for 6 months, but it is anticipated that works will be completed by the 21 April 2025. (STR001023 Salzgitter Drive, Swindon). This Order is being introduced for GTC works and will impose a prohibition of driving on Salzgitter Drive from the roundabout junction outside Box Safe to Thamesdown Drive. Traffic to be diverted via Salzgitter Drive, Lady Lane B4534, Thamesdown Drive. The Order comes into force on the 7 April 2025 for 6 months, but works are expected to be in place on the 7 April 2025 during 8am to 6pm.

(STR001028 Thornhill Road, South Marston) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on Thornhill Road between Old Vicarage Lane and Manor Farm. Traffic to be diverted via Old Vicarage Lane and A420 with the exception of HGV vehicles over 7.5 tonnes which will be diverted via A420 to White Hart Roundabout, A419, A361 Highworth Road, Supermarine Road and High worth Road. The Order comes into force on the 2 April 2025 for 6 months, but works are expected to take place

between 2 to 4 April 2025.

(STR10032 London/Sheppard Street and Station Road, Swindon)This Order is being introduced for REMEDIAL WORKS and will temporarily prohibit driving on London/Sheppard Street and Station Road from the junction with Emyln Square to Cheltenham Street. Traffic to be diverted via Oxford Street, East Street, Holbrook Way, Farnsby Street, Commercial Road, Regent Circus, Princes Street, Corporation Street, Manchester Road, Milford Street and Gloucester Street. The Order comes into force on the 7 April 2025 for 6 months, but works are expected to take place between 7 to 11 April 2025. (STR001044 Eastcott Road, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for WALES AND WEST GAS MAIN REPLACEMENT works and will impose a prohibition of driving on Eastcott Road between the junctions of Bath Road and King William Street. Traffic to be diverted via Bath Road, Victoria Road, Regent Circus, Crombey Street, Eastcott Road and/or Bath Road, Kingshill Road, Westcott Place, Faringdon Road, Farnsby Street and Commercial Road. The Order comes into force on the 7 April 2025 for 6 months, but works are expected to be in

place between 7 to 22 April 2025.

(STR001054 Swindon Town Centre) This Order is being introduced for TARMAC WORKS ON CARRIAGEWAY AND FOOTWAYS and will impose a prohibition of proceeding on Cheltenham Street, Beales Close, Holbrook Way, Milford Street, Henry Street, John Street and Fleet Street. Closure of Holbrook Way, Milford Street, John Street and Fleet Street to take place overnight. For Cheltenham Street and Beales Close traffic to be diverted via Holbrook Way, Bridge Street and Station Road. For Milford Street closure traffic to be diverted via Manchester Road, County Road and/or Wellington Street Station Road. The Order comes into force on the 28 March 2025 for 6 months, but the restrictions are expected to be in place between 28 to 30 March 2025.

(STR001042 A4259 Marlborough Road, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER works and will impose a prohibition of driving on the link road off A4259 Marlborough Road leading onto Homington Avenue and link road between A4259 Marlborough Road and Liden Drive. Traffic to be diverted via A4259 Marlborough Road, Biddestone Avenue, Homington Avenue, and/or Liden Drive, Dorcan Way and A4259 Marlborough Road. The Order comes into force on the 7 April 2025 for 6 months, but works are expected to be in place

between 7 to 21 April 2025.

(STR001030 A361 Swindon Street, Highworth) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose a prohibition of driving on A361 Swindon Street between High Street and Brewery Street. Works are to be phased to include one-way restrictions and 2 way traffic lights. Traffic to be diverted via A361 through Highworth, Inglesham, up to Lechlade On Thames, A417 through St Johns Priory, Buscot to Faringdon, A420 through Faringdon and Watchfield to Shrivenham, A419 to Rat Trap Roundabout, A361 Highworth Road. The Order comes into force on the 12 April 2025 for 6 months, but works are expected to take place between 12 to 27 April 2025.

(STR001066 Aylesbury Street, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for CARRIAGEWAY INVESTIGATION AND REPAIR WORKS and will temporarily prohibit driving on Aylesbury Street between the junctions of Manchester Road and Station Road. Traffic to be diverted via Station Road, Corporation Street, Manchester Road and Gloucester Street. The Order comes into force on the 17 April 2025 for 18 months with initial investigation works taking between 17 to 25 April 2025 and repair works taking place at a later date.
