Bournemouth – Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Highway Improvement Works

HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT WORKS

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council intends to make temporary traffic regulations, with the effects detailed below, to control traffic.

WHAT, WHERE AND WHEN:

The following will be closed to all vehicles with no parking – no waiting at any time and no loading/unloading at anytime:

A341 Wimborne Road, westbound direction (remains open to all eastbound traffic), from its junction with Northbourne Roundabout to its junction with East Howe Lane – anticipated dates 31st March until 23rd April 2025

Ferncroft Road/Ashridge Avenue/Pinewood Avenue/Northbourne Avenue from their junctions with Wimborne Road for a distance of approx.10m in a southerly direction – anticipated dates 31st March until 23rd April 2025

Avebury Avenue and New Road from their junctions with Wimborne Road for a distance of approx.10m in a northerly direction – anticipated dates 31st March until 23rd April 2025

Muscliffe Lane –

  • From its junction with Castle Lane West for a distance of approx.10m in a north-easterly direction – anticipated dates 27th May until 4th June 2025
  • From its junction with Castle Lane West for a distance of approx.60m in a north-easterly direction – anticipated dates 22nd May until 30th May 2025

A347 Whitelegg Way, from the junction with Redhill Roundabout for a distance of approx.40m in a northerly direction – anticipated dates 27th May until 4th June 2025 between 19:00hrs until 00:00hrs

Castle Lane West Service Road, from its junction with Muscliffe Lane for a distance of approx.10m in a westerly direction – anticipated dates 22nd May until 30th May 2025

Castle Lane West Service Road (southern section), from its junction with Muscliffe Lane to its junction with Castle Lane West – anticipated dates 22nd May until 3rd June 2025

A3060 Wimborne Road and Castle Lane West, from its junction with Redhill Roundabout to its junction with Castle Lane West (phased closure eastbound and westbound) – anticipated dates 27th May until 4th June 2025

Wimborne Road Service Road, from its junction with Wimborne Road for a distance of approx.20m in a northerly direction – anticipated dates 27th May until 4th June 2025

Wimborne Road, from its junction with Wimborne Road for a distance of approx.20m in a southerly direction – anticipated dates 27th May until 4th June 2025

A347 Redhill Avenue, from the junction with Redhill Roundabout for a distance of approx.100m in a southerly direction (phased northbound and southbound closures) – anticipated dates 2nd June until 24th June 2025

A347 Redhill Avenue, from the junction with Redhill Roundabout for a distance of approx.100m in a southerly direction – anticipated dates 30th June until 8th July 2025 between 19:00hrs - 00:00hrs

B3067 Redhill Drive, from the junction with Redhill Roundabout for a distance of approx.40m in a westerly direction (phased eastbound/westbound closures) – anticipated dates 7th July until 27th July 2025 and between 4th August until 9th August 2025 between 19:00hrs - 00:00hrs

WHY: To facilitate highway improvement works by BCP Council

ACCESS: Full emergency services access will be maintained, access to properties will remain depending on site safety.

DIVERSION: Via signed routes

These arrangements may be amended/extended should works overrun or weather conditions delay operations. Restrictions may be in effect under this Order for up to 18 months, and could be further extended with the approval of the Secretary of State.
