Newbridge Lane - Temporary One-Way Traffic For Work To Take Place For The Maintenance Of A Chamber
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(NEWBRIDGE LANE, PORTWOOD) (TEMPORARY ONE-WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce Temporary One-Way Traffic at Newbridge Lane, Portwood westbound closure from 15m East of the junction of Cromer Street to the junction of Stringer Street, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road.
This Order is necessary to allow work to take place for the maintenance of a chamber. Pedestrian access will be maintained. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the work will be one day. Alternative routes will be provided via: Carrington Road, Portwood Roundabout, and St Marys Way. This Order will come into operation on the 9th of June 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
