Downside Common Road (D6875) Cobham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 5 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Downside Common Road (D6875) Cobham which extends from; (a) the northeastern property boundary line of “No. 2 Pump Cottages” to its junction with Bookham Road (D6877) and; (b) turn right at the junction to Downside Common Road (D6875) from the property “No. 2 Pump Cottages” to the opposite of property named “Avalon”.

Alternative Route – Downside Common Road (D6875), Downside Road (C42), Cobham Park Road (D6876) and Downside Common Road (D6875) or the same route in reverse.

This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 8:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 18 March 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.


D211 Blackheath Lane, Wonersh Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 

On 05 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D211 Blackheath Lane, Wonersh that extends from its junction with B2128 Wonersh Common, to its junction with D216 Sample Oak Lane. 

This Traffic Order is required to enable Network Plus to carry out service connections and/or installations and/or maintenance works in D211 Blackheath Lane, Wonersh between D690 Phillips Hatch and “Barnett Hill Hotel”. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 9am and 6pm within 5 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 March 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, equestrians, cyclists and pedestrians will be maintained at all times. 

Alternative route:- Blackheath Lane, Sample Oak Lane, Dorking Road, A248 New Road and Wonersh Common.


Worplesdon Road (D4024) Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 

On 28 February 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Worplesdon Road (D4024) Guildford which extends from its junction with Johnston Walk (D4024) southwards. 

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The Order is required to allow Thames Water to facilitate works to install a pressure monitoring point and all associated works which is anticipated to be completed within 2 weeks, between 8:00am and 5:00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 09 January 2024. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.


Furzen Lane (C51) Ellens Green Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 28 February 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Furzen Lane (C51) Ellens Green as extends from the entrance to the property known as “Lake Cottage” and the entrance to the property known as “Old Barn Cottage”.

Alternative Route: Furzen Lane, Horsham Road, Rowhook Road, Bognor Road, A29 (Guildford Road), A281 (Guildford Road), B2128 (Church Street, Cox Green and Horsham Road) and Furzen Lane, or this route in reverse. 

This Order is required to enable Thames Water to facilitate water and all associated works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 March 2025.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.


Pitch Hill (C46) Ewhurst Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 28 February 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Pitch Hill (C46) Ewhurst as extends from its junction with Moon Hall Road (D222) and its junction with Peaslake Road (D222). 

Alternative Route: Pitch Hill, Mill Hollow, Windmill Plain, Horseblock Hollow, Barhatch Lane, Barhatch Road, B2127 (Bookhurst Road, Cranleigh Road and The Street) and Shere Road, or this route in reverse. 

For local traffic the alternative route is Peaslake Road and Moon Hall Road, or this route in reverse. 

This Order is required to enable HVSS to facilitate cable installation and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 week, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 March 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.


The Common (B2128) and High Street (B2128) Cranleigh Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 05 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; 

(a) The Common (B2128) Cranleigh as extends from its junction with (X2128) The Common to its junction with (B2128) High Street; 

(b) High Street (B2128) Cranleigh as extends from its junction with (B2128) The Common to its junction with (D918) St James Place. 

Alternative Route: (B2128) High Street, (B2128) Horsham Road, (B2128) Cox Green, (B2128) Church Street, (A281) Guildford Road, (A281) Horsham Road, (A281) Guildford Road, (A281) Horsham Road, and (B2130) Elmbridge Road, or this route in reverse. 

This Order is required to facilitate new electrical connection works for, or on behalf of UKPN. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 nights, between the hours of 8pm and 5am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 March 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.


Pook Hill (D157) and Prestwick Lane (D154) Chiddingfold Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 

On 05 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (including pedestrians and cyclists) from entering or proceeding in that length of; 

(a) Pook Hill (D157) Chiddingfold as extends from its junction with (D154) Prestwick Lane and for a distance of 40 metres in a southerly direction along Pook Hill; 

(b) Prestwick Lane (D154) Chiddingfold as extends from its junction with (D157) Pook Hill and for a distance of 75 metres in a south westerly direction along Prestwick Lane. Alternative Route: 

(1) Pook Hill, West End Lane, Killinghurst Lane, (B2131) Petworth Road, Holdfast Lane, Clammer Hill Road, and Prestwick Road, or this route in reverse; 

(2) Prestwick Lane, Lower Road, (A286) Grayswood Road, (A286) Haslemere Road, (A283) Cherry Tree Roundabout, (A283) Petworth Road, Combe Lane, and Prestwick Lane, or this route in reverse. 

This Order is required to facilitate drainage repair works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 weeks, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 17 March 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. 

Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure, and all traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.


Chapel Street (D4015) Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Chapel Street (D4015) Guildford.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The Order is required to allow SGN to facilitate gas main repairs and all associated works which is anticipated to be completed within 5 days, between 8:00am and 4:00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 31 March 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.


Dawney Hill (A324) Pirbright Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Dawney Hill (A324) Pirbright as extends from its junction with Gole Road (B3012) to its junction with Caterham Close (X324).

Alternative Route – B3012 (Gole Road), B3405 (Stanley Hill, Grange Road and School Lane) and A324 (Dawney Hill), or this route in reverse.

The Order is required to allow Knights Brown Construction Ltd to facilitate road widening works and all associated works which is anticipated to be completed within 4 months, between 7:00am and 6:00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 31 March 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.


D98 Bourne Road, Farncombe Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic, including cyclists, equestrians and pedestrians from entering or proceeding in that length of D98 Bourne Road, Farncombe, including the footway, that extends from the northern side of its junction with D5400 Summers Road, to the southern side of its junction with D5411 Station Road. 

This Traffic Order is required to enable Network Rail and/or Centurion to carry out repair and/or replacement and/or maintenance works at the level crossing. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 11:30pm and 5am within 2 nights of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 02 April 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times via means of a temporary footway. 

No sole access to any property will be affected. Access for emergency services, residents and businesses will be maintained at all times to the point of works via the alternative route:- Bourne Road, Summers Road, Farncombe Street and Station Road.


A323 Guildford Road, Normandy Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of A323 Guildford Road, Normandy that extends from its junction with C16 Westwood Lane, to its junction with D60 Glaziers Lane. 

This Traffic Order is required to enable Cappagh to carry out excavations and/or water service connections and/or installations and/or maintenance works near to “Wyke Lodge, Guildford Road”. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5:30pm within 2 weeks of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 04 April 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, equestrians, cyclists and pedestrians will be maintained at all times. 

Alternative route for HGVs:- Guildford Road, Aldershot Road, Guildford and Godalming By-Pass, Hogs Back, Ash Street and Guildford Road. 

Alternative route for smaller vehicles:- Guildford Road, Glaziers Lane, Flexford Road, Westwood Lane and Guildford Road.


Old Portsmouth Road (A3100) Peasmarsh and New Pond Road (B3000) Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of (a) Old Portsmouth Road (A3100) Peasmarsh as extends from its junction at the roundabout with (A248) Broadford Road to its junction at the roundabout with (B3000) New Pond Road; and (b) New Pond Road (B3000) Godalming as extends from its junction at the roundabout with (A3100) Old Portsmouth Road to its junction with (D5400) Summers Road. 

Alternative Routes – (1) A3100 Old Portsmouth Road/Portsmouth Road/Park Street; A31 Farnham Road/Hog’s Back; A3000 Puttenham Heath Road/The Street/New Pond Road; and A3100 Old Portsmouth Road; and (2) A3000 New Pond Road/The Street/Puttenham Heath Road; A31 Hog’s Back/Farnham Road; A322 Bridge Street/Onslow Street; A3100 Park Street/Portsmouth Road; and A3100 Old Portsmouth Road. 

This Order, which will commence on 01 April 2025 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: highway improvement works and/or traffic signals works and/or major highway maintenance works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out as nighttime works, and the works will not take the full duration of the Order. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. 

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. 

During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.


Peaslake Lane (D222) Peaslake Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2025 

On 05 March 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; 

(a) Peaslake Lane (D222) Peaslake as extends from its junction with the entrance to the property known as “Hazelhurst” to its junction with the entrance to the property known as “Meadow View”, and; 

(b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Peaslake Lane (D222) Ewhurst and Walking Bottom (D228) Peaslake Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” and; 

(c) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Peaslake Lane (D222) Peaslake Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in Part (a) of this Notice. 

Alternative Route: Peaslake Lane, Pursers Lane, Burrows Cross, Hook Lane, Hound House Road, Mill Hollow, Pitch Hill, Peaslake Road, Ewhurst Road, and Peaslake Lane, or this route in reverse. 

This Order is required to facilitate new electrical connection works for, or on behalf of UKPN. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 March 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.


Green Lane (D248) Ockham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Green Lane (D248) Ockham as extends from its junction with (X7392) Edenwood Close and for a distance of 73 metres in an easterly direction. 

Alternative Route: (B2039) Ockham Road North, Long Reach, and Green Lane, or this route in reverse. 

This Order is required to facilitate carriageway utility works for, or on behalf of TriConnex Ltd. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 31 March 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Berkeley Drive (D6947) West Molesey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Berkeley Drive (D6947) West Molesey. 

Alternative Route: The Crescent, Boleyn Drive, and (A3050) Hurst Road, or this route in reverse. 

This Order is required to facilitate safe construction works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible and works are anticipated to be carried out within 4 weeks, during the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 01 April 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. 

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclist. All other vehicular traffic will be required to following the diversion route. 

The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.


Hurst Road (A3050) and Rosemary Avenue (D6947) West Molesey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; 

(a) Hurst Road (A3050) West Molesey as extends from its junction with the westernmost junction of (D6947) Boleyn Drive to its junction with (D6949) Hurstfield Road; 

(b) Rosemary Avenue (D6947) West Molesey as extends from its junction with (A3050) Hurst Road to its junction with (X1745) Sandringham Gardens. Alternative Route: (1) (A3050) Hurst Road, (B369) Walton Road, (B3379) Bridge Road, (B3379) Creek Road, (A309) Hampton Court Way, (A3050) Creek Road, (A3050) Bridge Road, (A3050) River Bank, and (A3050) Hurst Road; (2) (A3050) Hurst Road, (A3050) River Bank, (A309) Hampton Court Way, (B3379) Creek Road, (B3379) Bridge Road, (B369) Walton Road, and (A3050) Hurst Road; (3) Rosemary Avenue, (B369) Walton Road, (B3379) Bridge Road, (B3379) Creek Road, (A309) Hampton Court Way, (A3050) Creek Road, (A3050) Bridge Road, (A3050) River Bank, and (A3050) Hurst Road; (4) (A3050) Hurst Road, (A3050) River Bank, (A309) Hampton Court Way, (B3379) Creek Road, (B3379) Bridge Road, (B369) Walton Road, and Rosemary Avenue. 

This Order is required to facilitate construction of a signalised pedestrian crossing, including resurfacing, road marking, and kerb build out works and/or maintenance works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. For part (a) These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 weeks, between the hours of 8pm and 6am,

for part (b) These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible and works are anticipated to take 4 weeks, during the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 01 April 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. 

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. 

All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.

Notice of Making of an Order Highways Act 1980 Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 Public Bridleway no. 352 (Cranleigh) Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2025

The above Order, made on 27 February 2025 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 will, if confirmed, divert public bridleway no. 352 (Cranleigh) from a point 100 metres north west of its junction with the B2130 Elbridge Road (grid ref. 503869 139112) proceeding generally north for 330 metres to point B (grid ref. 503857 139440) to a line running adjacent to the Wey and Arun Canal, starting from the same point and proceeding northwest and generally north to grid ref. 503845 139171, then generally north and northeast to rejoin the current bridleway at grid ref. 503857 139440, a total distance of 340 metres.

Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to the Countryside Access team (quoting reference DW/RC/3/1/5) at Surrey County Council, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford GU4 7BQ not later than 4 April 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Surrey County Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. 

If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order. Any representations not withdrawn will be sent with the order to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14 (1) & (2) Public Footpath 30 (Chertsey) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 30 (Chertsey) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 was made on the grounds of public safety due to Works being undertaken on or near the highway. The Order came into operation on 8 August 2024.

It was due to expire on 08 October 2024 but was continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 08 April 2025. 

It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport for a second time until 08 June 2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Public Footpath 30 (Chertsey) from grid ref: 502437 163008 in a generally north-easterly direction for approximately 350 metres to grid ref: 502691 163296.

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route is as follows from grid ref: 502437 163008: Head north-west along Public Footpath No.21 (Chertsey) until the footpath meets Brox Road. Head north-east along Brox Road for approximately 682 metres then head south-east along Public Footpath No.22 (Chertsey) for approximately 270 metres, then head in a south-westerly direction on Public Footpath No.30 (Chertsey) for 260 metres to grid ref: 502691 163296.

The alternative route for traffic from grid ref: 502691 163296. will be the reverse of the route described above.
