What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET

INTRODUCTION OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING BAYS AND CHARGING POINTS VARIOUS LOCATIONS WITHIN THE LONDON BOROUGH BARNET

THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, (LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20

THE BARNET (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under section 6, 45, 46, 49, 51 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers and proposes to install electric vehicle charging points under section 16 of the London Local Authorities and Transport for London Act 2013.

  1. The general effect of the above Orders would be:

    (a) to provide parking places which may be used free of charge by electrically propelled vehicles that are being charged with electrical power, operational ‘at any time’ on Mondays to Sundays inclusive for a maximum stay period of 3 hours, in the locations detailed in the Schedule to this Notice.

    (b) to formally install electric vehicle charging points adjacent to the proposed parking places, as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

Although parking in the electric vehicle bays is free of charge this is normally carried out in conjunction with the adjacent electric vehicle charging point.

A copy of the proposed Orders, associated plan of the relevant areas and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be obtained, inclusive of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 7th Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.

Further information on the proposals may be obtained by visiting the Barnet Traffweb website at http://www.barnettraffweb.co.uk/ or telephoning the Design Team on 020 8359 3555.

Any person wishing to object to or comment on the proposed Orders should send a written statement explaining their objection/comments, and quoting reference number SCR640 EV Bays, to the Design Team, London Borough of Barnet, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW, via the Barnet TraffWeb website or via email to parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk within 21 days of the date of this Notice.

  • Outside the common boundary of No.140 to No.142 High Road, N2, (6.5 metres), (Convert part of an existing pay and display parking bay operating Monday to Saturday 08:00am to 6.30pm).

  • Outside the common boundary of No.1097 to No.1099 Finchley Road, NW11, (5.5 metres), (Convert part of an existing pay and display parking bay operating Monday to Saturday 09:00am to 5.30pm).

  • Outside the common boundary of No.1049 to No.1051 Finchley Road, NW11, (5.5 metres), (Convert part of an existing pay and display parking bay operating Monday to Saturday 09:00am to 5.30pm).

  • Outside the common boundary of No.3-7 to No.9 The Broadway, NW7, (6.5 metres), (Convert part of an existing pay and display parking bay operating Monday to Saturday 09:00am to 5.30pm).
