Museum Avenue and City Hall Road - Temporary Road Closures to Facilitate Works on or Near to the Highway

What is happening?

GORCHYMYN CYNGOR SIR DINAS A SIR CAERDYDD (RHODFA’R AMGUEDDFA A HEOL NEUADD Y DDINAS) (CAU FFYRDD DROS DRO) 2025

Ar 5 Mawrth 2025, gwnaeth Cyngor Sir Dinas a Sir Caerdydd drwy arfer ei bwerau o dan adrannau 14(1) Deddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y’i diwygiwyd), a’r holl bwerau galluogi eraill, Orchymyn a fydd yn gwahardd unrhyw gerbyd rhag defnyddio neu deithio ar hyd:

I. Rhodfa’r Amgueddfa o’r gyffordd â Heol Gerddi’r Orsedd i’r gyffordd â Heol Neuadd y Ddinas

II. Heol Neuadd y Ddinas o’r gyffordd â Rhodfa’r Amgueddfa i’r gyffordd â Rhodfa’r Brenin Edward VII

Mae’r Gorchymyn hwn yn angenrheidiol i hwyluso gwaith ar y briffordd neu gerllaw iddi a daw i rym ddydd Gwener 7 Mawrth 2025 a disgwylir iddo fod mewn grym tan ddydd Gwener 14 Mawrth 2025 neu nes bydd y gwaith wedi’i gwblhau.

Dim ond ar yr adegau ac i’r graddau a nodir ar arwyddion a/neu hysbysiadau sy’n cael eu harddangos y bydd y cyfyngiad dan sylw ar waith. Bydd y Gorchymyn yn parhau ar waith am hyd at 18 mis.

Bydd y llwybr amgen i gerbydau yr effeithir arnynt gan y gorchymyn cau hwn trwy Plas y Parc, Heol Corbett a Rhodfa’r Brenin Edward VII. Bydd mynediad i’r maes parcio sydd y tu ôl i’r Amgueddfa Genedlaethol yn cael ei gynnal ar gyfer staff yr amgueddfa. Ni chaniateir mynediad i fysus na choetsys a bydd yn ofynnol i gerbydau o’r fath ddefnyddio’r safle bysus ar Plas y Parc. Bydd hyn yn cael ei reoli gan weithredwyr Rheoli Traffig.

Enw’r Gorchymyn yw “Gorchymyn Cyngor Sir Dinas a Sir Caerdydd (Rhodfa’r Amgueddfa a Heol Neuadd y Ddinas Caerdydd) (Cau Ffyrdd Dros Dro) 2025”.

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY AND COUNTY OF CARDIFF (MUSEUM AVENUE AND CITY HALL ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES) ORDER 2025

On the 5th March 2025, The County Council of the City and County of Cardiff in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), and of all other enabling powers, made an Order the general effect of which is to prevent any vehicle from using or proceeding along:

I. Museum Avenue from its junction with Gorsedd Gardens Road to its junction with City Hall Road

II. City Hall Road from its junction with Museum Avenue to its junction with King Edward VII Avenue

This Order is necessary to facilitate works on or near to the highway and will come into operation on Friday 7th March 2025 and is expected to be in operation until Friday 14th March 2025 or until works are complete.

The restriction specified will only have the effect at such times and to such extent as indicated by the display of signs and/or notices.

The Order will remain in force for a maximum of 18 months.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by the above closures will be via Park Place, Corbett Road and King Edward VII Avenue.

Access to the car park at the rear of the National Museum will be maintained for museum staff. Access will not be permitted for buses or coaches and such vehicles will be required to utilise the bus stop on Park Place. This will be managed on site by Traffic Management operatives.

This Order is known as “The County Council of The City and County of Cardiff (Museum Avenue and City Hall Road, Cardiff) (Temporary Road Closures) Order 2025”.
