What is happening?

LINCOLNSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(LINCOLN – SINCIL BANK)
(ONE WAY TRAFFIC & PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lincolnshire County Council propose to make an Order under their powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be set out in the schedule below:

• Allow traffic to travel in a southerly direction on Sincil Bank between Portland Street, and Kirkby Street. A contraflow cycle lane is also proposed.

• Allow traffic to travel in a southerly direction on Sincil Bank between Scorer Street and Sausthorpe Street. A contraflow cycle lane is also proposed.

• Allow traffic to travel in a southerly direction from property number 2 Charles Street to Chelmsford Street.

• Introduce No Waiting at Any Time outside of properties 34, 48, 49, 66, 67, 84, 85 and 110, Sincil Bank.

• Remove the existing waiting restrictions outside properties 23c, 78, 81, 86-88 and 113 Sincil Bank, Lincoln

• To reduce the existing waiting restrictions on Kesteven Street north of Portland Street.

Exemptions for the waiting restrictions are included which will permit waiting for disabled persons’ vehicles and for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers, loading or unloading of goods, the maintenance of the roads, and works in connection with the supply of gas, electricity, water and telecommunications apparatus.

The Order will come into operation on 10th March 2025 and a copy of the Order and a plan showing the lengths of road concerned with a Statement of Reasons can be requested.

Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks after 4th March 2025 make application to the High Court for this purpose.
