What is happening?

EAST RIDING OFYORKSHIRE COUNCIL (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
LAIRGATE, BEVERLEY (PART)

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Lairgate, Beverley (between numbers 24 & 32).

The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed new gas main laying works to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 March 2025.

The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Lairgate, North Bar Within, Hengate, NewWalkergate, Sow Hill Road, Railway Street, Eastgate, MinsterYard South, Keldgate and Admiral Walker Road, Beverley.

The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties directly affected by the closure and for emergency services.

The Order will commence Monday 17 March 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
