Braintree - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works

What is happening?

(Church Hill, White Notley)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Hill, White Notley in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Church Mead for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th April 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310770133 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Powers Hall End, Chipping Hill, Braintree Road, Cressing Road, Witham Road, Braintree Road, Cressing Road, Cressing Road Roundabout, Millennium Way, North Roundabout, Millennium Way, Chapel Hill, Lakes Road, Manor Street, Trinovantian Way, Rayne Street, South Street and vice versa (with access only into Church Hill, The Street, Faulkbourne Road, White Notley Road, Witham Road, The Green).

The Order will come into effect on 13th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Maldon Road, Witham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Maldon Road, Witham in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 35m northwest of its junction with The Retreat for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th April 2025 for 5 days or where stated on a valid permit (EP003550-2258 – Terrafirma Pipeline Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Terrrafirma Pipeline Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Newland Street, The Grove, The Grove Roundabout, The Grove and vice versa (with access only into Maldon Road).

The Order will come into effect on 13th March 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hatfield Road, Terling)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hatfield Road, Terling in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Witham Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st March 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC4115A001WTW1D2 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Hatfield Road, Terling Road, Station Road, The Street, London Road, Main Road, Waltham Road, Boreham Road, Fuller Street, Braintree Road, Owls Hill, New Road, Hatfield Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 27th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hanover Square, Feering)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hanover Square, Feering in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Hanover Bridge to its other junction with Hanover Bridge a distance of approximately 155m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th March 2025 for 3 days or where stated on a valid permit (AD03165322064 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Hanover Bridge and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 27th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
