Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Yarnton, Cassington Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting
- Date of Order: 3/3/2025
- Coming into force: 10/3/2025
This Order is being introduced because of carriageway improvement/re-surfacing works which are anticipated to take 18 days to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in parts of Cassington Road between Rutten Lane and Spring Hill Road junctions. Working times – 10 to 21 March, 07:00 - 17:00hrs and 24 to 29 March – 20:00 - 06:00hrs.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via the A40, A44 to Kidlington, and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Bucknell Bridleways 148/6/10, 148/6/20 & Footpath 148/10/10

This Order is being introduced because of resurfacing works for Cherwell District Council which is anticipated to be completed on 7/4/2025.
The effect of the Order is to close temporarily Bridleway 148/6/10, 148/6/20 & Footpath 148/10/10 to the northwest of Middleton Road and the M40 towards Gagle Brook.
Exemptions are included for emergency services, for the works and for pedestrian access to premises of closely adjacent properties.
Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. There will be no official alternative route.

OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BICESTER AREA) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that on 3 March 2025 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order, which comes into force on 8 March is to introduce/amend 50mph speed limits on the A41 Oxford Road in Bicester as follows:
Northbound (towards Bicester) carriageway – extend the existing 50mph speed limit south-westwards (in place of the current 70mph National Speed Limit) to a point 300 metres northeast of its junction with the M40 (Junction 9).
Southbound (towards the M40) carriageway – introduce a new 50mph speed limit (in place of the current 70mph National Speed Limit) from a point 130 metres northeast of its junction with Wendlebury Road, south-westwards to a point 30 metres northeast of its junction with the M40 (Junction 9).
Additionally, a new 40mph speed limit is introduced on the unnamed road to Little Chesterton, for a distance of 340 metres from the A41 Oxford Road.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Bicester Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2024 is revoked/replaced.
