What is happening?
READING BOROUGH COUNCIL

(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND PAY AND DISPLAY)
(UPPER REDLANDS ROAD) ORDER 2025
Reading Borough Council under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to 3(2), 4(1) and 4(2), 32, 35 46, 122(1) and 122(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act as amended has made the above Order which will come into force on 10 March 2025. The effects of which is to introduce waiting restrictions and parking places as specified in the schedules below:
SCHEDULE 1: No Waiting at Any Time
Upper Redlands Road north side:
From a point 28m west of its junction with Alexandra Road to a point 10m east of that junction.
Upper Redlands Road, south side:
From a point 12m west of its junction with Elmhurst Road to a point 13m east of that junction.
Upper Redlands Road, South side:
From a point 51.5m east of its junction with Elmhurst Road to a point 16m southwest of its junction with Whiteknights Road.
SCHEDULE 2: Shared use: Mon-Sun 8am-5.30pm
Permits Holders Only or Pay & Display
Upper Redlands Road, north side:
From a point 42m east of its junction with Alexandra Road to a point 15m east of that point.

Copies of this Notice, the made order, plans, Council’s statement of reasons for making the order can be viewed online at https://reading.govocal.com/en-GB/. They can also be inspected during office hours by prior appointment only, Monday to Friday at the Civic Offices, from the date of this notice until six weeks after the order is made.
If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act, or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from 5 March 2025 apply for the purpose to the High Court.
