What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY No.71BUR)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any members of the public from proceeding along:-

Public Right of Way (Footpath) No.71BUR – from the Millwood Court end to the Goshen Lane end

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate the construction of a residential development.

The alternative route will be via Millwood Court, Manchester Road & the pedestrian access between Nos. 411-417 Manchester Road (leading to Goshen Lane) & vice-versa.

The Order will come into operation on Thursday 06/03/25 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 6 months, although an application for an extension to the Secretary of State will be required.

(SHORT STREET, RADCLIFFE)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles or pedestrians from proceeding along:-

Short Street, Radcliffe – full length

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate works associated with the construction of the Radcliffe Hub.

There is no alternative route as this is a cul-de-sac.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 19/03/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 1 week (overnight 23.00-06.00hrs), and subsequent intermittent overnight closures as required by the works.
