What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
(RESTRICTED BYWAY 46 WINSFORD (PART) TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025)
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council propose to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic on Restricted Byway 46 Winsford (part) from a point at OSGR SJ 6563 6526 running in a southerly direction for approximately 62 metres to a point at OSGR SJ 6566 6521, whilst works on or adjacent to the restricted byway are undertaken, due to a landslide and the likelihood of danger to the public.
The closure is necessary for works to take place to repair the structural integratory of the Restricted Byway because of a landslide. The Order will come into force on 24 March 2025 and will continue in force for a period of six months or until the works are complete, which should be by 18 April 2025.
There is no alternative route available.
This order does not prevent any traffic with access to premises situated on or adjacent to the restricted byway only accessible from the restricted byway or by any emergency vehicle.
NOTICE OF MAKING
PTRO 784 A56 Chester Road, A56 Sutton Causeway, A557 Clifton Road, A56 Chester Road (Hatton Border) (40MPH/50MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which came into force on 28th February 2025.
The effect of the order will be to prohibit any vehicle from exceeding 40/50mph on the lengths of road in the schedules.
The new limits are set out in the schedules below:
Schedule 1
(40MPH speed Limit) A56 Chester Road (north) – from the existing 30mph speed limit to the Hatton border.
Schedule 2
(50MPH speed Limit) A56 Chester Road (south) – from the existing 30mph speed limit to its junction with A557 Clifton Road.
A56 Sutton Causeway – from the existing 30mph speed limit to its junction with A557 Clifton Road.
A557 Clifton Road – from its junction with A56 Sutton Causeway to its junction with A56 Chester Road.
If you wish to question the validity of the order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of the Act or regulations made under it have not been complied with, you may, within six weeks from the date on which the order is made, apply to the High Court.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
TRO8194 Queensgate, Northwich in Northwich Winnington & Castle Ward
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Northwich Winnington & Castle Ward to enable excavation in roadway to install and maintain joints, works to be carried out by Scottish Power.
Queensgate – Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works or repair and the like or in use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance and police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
The Order will come into force on 5th March 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately two weeks to complete.
Alternative routes for through traffic – Traffic should proceed via Queensgate, Chester Road, Ryders Street.
