Wiltshire - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures due to Works

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A. C293 (Part), Allington and Newton Tony From its junction with Wyndham Lane to its junction with Newton Tony to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun works to stabilise and improve the roadway for years following years of overrun having taken place. Works will also involve other highway remedial works where necessary. Alternative route via C293 (unaffected length) – Amesbury Road – A338 – Wyndham Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 31 March 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:30 and 18:00 for 5 days. A360 (Part), Salisbury and Woodford From a point approximately 30m north west of its junction with Aldam Way for a distance of approximately 150m in a north westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out surface patching and associated works. Alternative route via A360 (unaffected length) – The Avenue – A36 – A360 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 02 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59 for 1 night. C. C24 (Part), Tisbury From its junction with Quarry Lane for a distance of approximately 630m in a westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole and associated works. Alternative route via C24 (unaffected length) – C301 – C276 – C24 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 April 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. K. C295 (Part), Donhead St Mary From its junction with A30 to its junction with Charlton Lane to enable Openreach to carry out pole and associated works. This Order will come into operation on 13 March 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. Works will also involve other highway remedial works where necessary. Alternative route via The Hollow – High Street – A360 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 10 March 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 5 days. O) Church Lane, Woodford; from its junction with C42 for its entire length to enable Wessex Internet to lay approximately 100m duct work with chamber for Wessex Internet. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 10 March 2025 and the closure will be required until 19 March 2025. Orders A) to O) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) Commercial Road (Part), Devizes; From its junction with Couch Lane to its junction with New Park Road.

B) New Park Road (Part), Devizes; From its junction with Commercial Road to its junction with New Park Street.

And to temporarily suspend the existing One Way Order on Couch Lane to facilitate a diversion for traffic to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing work and other associated works. Alternative route via Couch Lane – New Park Street – Link between New Park Street Roundabout and Commercial Road Roundabout – Commercial Road (unaffected length) and vice versa.

The closures, restriction, and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

The Order, which previously came into operation on 10 October 2024, will now recommence on 12 December 2024, and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59 until 16 December 2024. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order has a maximum duration of 18 months.
