TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M3 Motorway in the county of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order would be to authorise the total weekend closure of:
a) the London-bound carriageway of the M3 between Junction 7 (A30) and Junction 6 (A339);
b) the coastbound carriageway of the M3 between Junction 6 (A339) and Junction 7 (A30);
c) all the roads leading to and from the carriageways described in a) and b) above.
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway works and all associated works.
It is expected that the work would occur over the weekend of 4th-7th April for 57 hours (maximum) starting at 21:00 hours on Friday and ending 06:00 hours Monday. There is a contingency to repeat the following weekend if necessary. Please visit the National Highways website for further details.
The Order would come into force on 2nd April 2025 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A30 and M3 Spur in either direction.
The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
