Notice Of Intent To Create A Temporary Traffic Order For Planned Works Affecting: Various Roads, Greenford.

Ealing Council intends to make the following temporary traffic order under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
Title of order
This order can be referred to as: Temporary traffic order for planned works - TT 4577 Various roads, Greenford - 2025.

Reason for order
This order is needed to provide traffic management measures to allow for traffic flow. 

This is to allow for Cadent Gas works at the Greenford Road/Rockware Avenue junction, which will close the western junction of Rockware Avenue/Greenford Road, and to temporarily lift the weight restriction on Oldfield Lane North allowing vehicles to follow a diversion route.

Road closures and banned turns will be prohibited as illustrated under 'effect of order'. 

Effect of order
1. Rockware Avenue will be closed at its western junction with Greenford Road.

2. The order will provide for the suspension of the prohibition on goods vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonne maximum gross weight applying to Horsenden Lane North, between the junctions of Greenford Road and Oldfield Lane North, & Oldfield Lane North -between the junctions of Clare Road and Horsenden Lane North. The suspension will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

3. The order will prohibit all vehicles travelling southbound on Greenford Road, turning right onto Rockware Avenue. Diverted traffic, will need to follow a diversion via Oldfield Lane North, and into Rockware Avenue.

4. The order will prohibit all vehicles travelling northbound on Greenford Road, turning left onto Rockware Avenue. Diverted traffic, will need to follow a diversion via Oldfield Lane North.

5. The above temporary restrictions and prohibitions will only apply at specified locations where appropriate traffic signs are provided and displayed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.

6. While the temporary restrictions are in place, displaced vehicles should follow the diversions displayed in place to reach their destinations and comply with any traffic management measures.

7. This Order does not apply to.
(a) anything done at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer (PCSO).

(b) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance. 

(c) Date order will come into force. 24th March 2025 

Maximum duration of order
This order will expire on 23rd September 2026, or, on completion of the works, which is expected to be 9th May 2025, whichever is sooner.
