What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U2081 Park Avenue, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Park Avenue – from the junction with A2270 Willingdon Road to the junction with A2021 Kings Drive.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2021 Kings Drive – A2270 Willingdon Road.

The Order commences 21 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 21 and 22 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2104 Ersham Road/Hailsham Road, Hailsham & Stonecross) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ersham Road/Hailsham Road – from the junction with A295 South Road to the junction with B2247 Dittons Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A295 South Road – A22 Polegate Road, Hailsham Road – A27(T) Polegate bypass – A22 Golden Jubilee Way – B2247 Dittons Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 24 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 24 and 29 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2163 Hydney Street, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Hydney Street – from the junction with A259 Seaside to the junction with U2163 Fairlight Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2163 Fairlight Road – B2106 Beach Road – A259 Seaside and vice versa or via A259 Seaside – U2163 Seaford Road, Fairlight Road.

The Order commences 13 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 13 and 14 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7730 Lower Street, East Dean) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Lower Street – from the junction with C37 Gilberts Drive to the junction with U7731 Went Way.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7730 Upper Street – A259 Friston Hill, Eastbourne Road – C37 Gilberts Drive and vice versa.

The Order commenced 3 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 10 March and 6 April 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2106 Grand Parade, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Grand Parade – from the junction with U2138 Trinity Place to the junction with U2145 Elms Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with alternative routes for through traffic via (1) B2106 Grand Parade, Devonshire Place – A259 South Street, Gildredge Road, Ashford Road, Susans Road, Seaside – B2106 Beach Road, Sidley Road, Royal Parade, Marine Parade, Grand Parade, or (2) B2106 Grand Parade – B2103 Grand Parade, King Edwards Parade, Dukes Drive, Upper Dukes Drive, Warren Hill – A259 East Dean Road, Church Street, High Street, The Goffs, Upperton Road – A2040 The Avenue, Upper Avenue – A2021 Bedfordwell Road, Whitley Road – A259 Seaside – B2106 Beach Road, Sidley Road, Royal Parade, Marine Parade, Grand Parade and vice versa.

The Order commenced 2 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 10 March and 2 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
