(Washington: London Road) 

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close sections of London Road between School Lane and The Street. The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst gas maintenance works are undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 10 March 2025 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated the works will commence on or after 10 March 2025 and will take 3 weeks to complete.

Any queries about the works to take place should be directed to SGN, telephone number 0800 9121700. Any queries about the effect of the Order on vehicles using the highway should be directed to WSCC, telephone number 01243 642105.

(Washington: A283, The Hollow and The Pike)

(30Mph & 40Mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to introduce:-

(i)  a 30Mph speed limit on the entire length of the ex-A283/ The Pike; and

(ii) a 40Mph speed limit on the entire lengths of the A283 The Pike, The Hollow and a length of the A283 Steyning Road east of The Hollow.

The Order will come into operation on 10 March 2025.

Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to have a copy of the Order should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive a copy by post.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirements of the act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 6 March 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Storrington & Sullington and Washington: A283 Washington Road/Storrington Road)

(30Mph & 40Mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:-

(i)  revoke a section of the existing 40Mph speed limit on Washington Road, east of Heather Way, and make it a restricted road and subject to a 30Mph speed limit by virtue of the system of street lighting; and

(ii) extend the 30Mph on Washington Road eastwards to a point 40M west of Water Lane

The Order will come into operation on 10 March 2025.
