(Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation Order Providing On-Street Parking Places, Waiting, Loading And Stopping Restrictions And Migration To A ‘Map-Based’ Format) Order 2024 (Amendment No. 02) Order 2025 Various Roads In The Lockwood Area 

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees have made the above Order under their powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which, as it affects lengths of road in Lockwood, Huddersfield in the Kirklees district, will be as follows:-

1. To prohibit the waiting of vehicles at any time on lengths of the following roads:

i. Albert Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield

ii. Bath Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield

iii. Bridge Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield

iv. Crowther Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield

v. Fair Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield

vi. Lockwood Road, Lockwood, Huddersfield

vii. Meltham Road, Lockwood, Huddersfield

viii. Mount Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield

ix. Neale Road, Lockwood, Huddersfield

x. Summer Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield

xi. Swan Lane, Lockwood, Huddersfield

2. To prohibit the waiting of vehicles at any time and to prohibit the loading and unloading of vehicles between the hours of 7:30am – 9:30am and 4pm – 6:30pm, Monday to Friday on lengths of the following roads:-

i. Albert Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield

ii. Lockwood Road, Lockwood, Huddersfield

3. To prohibit the waiting and loading and unloading of vehicles between the hours of 7:30am – 9:30am and 4pm – 6:30pm, Monday to Friday on lengths of the following roads:-

i. Albert Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield

ii. Lockwood Road, Lockwood, Huddersfield

4. To prohibit the loading and unloading of vehicles between the hours of 4pm – 6:30pm, Monday to Friday on a length of Lockwood Road, Lockwood, Huddersfield

6. To create free parking places for a maximum stay 30 minutes with no return within 60 minutes on lengths of the following roads (The restriction will apply from 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday):-

i. Bridge Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield

ii. Lockwood Road, Lockwood, Huddersfield

7. To introduce designated electric vehicle charging places on a length of Crowther Street, Lockwood, Huddersfield (with waiting limited to 3 hours and no return within 3 hours):

8. To revoke certain items in the Kirklees Council (Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation Order Providing On- Street Parking Places, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions and Migration to a ‘Map-Based’ Format) Order 2024 which will be redundant when certain parts of the restrictions referred to above are introduced 

These revocations relate to existing restrictions against waiting and loading/unloading on lengths of various roads, as well as bus lanes on lengths of Lockwood Road. Please refer to the plans for the full extent of these revocations.

Please note that these proposals have replaced in the full the measures previously proposed in the Kirklees Council (Traffic Regulation) (No 2) Order 2023, which has not been made.
