What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
VARIOUS ROADS, BRIDLINGTON (PHASE 2)
East Riding of Yorkshire Council sealed an Order on
31 October 2024, the effect of which will be
to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the
following roads commencing 6 March 2025 until
11 March 2025 to allow carriageway resurfacing
works to be carried out safety.
Due to unforseen circumstances works will now
commence 17 March 2025 until 21 March 2025.
Sands Lane - Junction with Flamborough Road.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure
will be via Sands Lane, North Marine Drive,
First Avenue and vice versa.
St Annes Road - Junction with Flamborough Road.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure
will be via North Marine Drive, First Avenue and vice
versa.
Swanland Avenue - Junction with Flamborough Road.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure
will be via Park Avenue, Turmer Avenue and vice versa.
Alexandra Walk - Junction with Flamborough Road.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure
will be via Gladstone Terrace Access Road,
Alexandra Drive, Gladstone Terrace and vice versa.
Vernon Road - Junction with Flamborough Road.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure
will be via Park Avenue, Turmer Avenue and vice versa.
The road closures are necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months
(from 31 October 2024), but it is anticipated that the
works will be completed by 21 March 2025.
The closures will be between the hours of
09.30 until 15.30.
One way system will become two ways on Sands Lane,
St Annes Road and Vernon Road.
The diversion routes will be signed at the time of
closure. The roads will be closed to all traffic but
access will be maintained for emergency vehicles,
residents and pedestrians. Further information can
