What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
VARIOUS ROADS, BRIDLINGTON (PHASE 1)
East Riding of Yorkshire Council sealed an Order on
5 November 2024, the effect of which will be to
prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the
following roads commencing 12 March 2025 until
17 March 2025 to allow carriageway resurfacing
works to be carried out safely.
Due to unforseen circumstances works will now
commence 24 March 2025 until 28 March 2025.
First Avenue - Junction of Flamborough Road.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure
will be via First Avenue, North Marine Drive,
St Annes Road, Flamborough Road and vice versa.
Lamplugh Lane - Junction of Flamborough Road.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure
will be via Lamplugh Road, North Marine Drive,
Sands Lane and vice versa.
Park Avenue - Junction of Flamborough Road.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure
will be via Park Avenue, Turner Avenue, Swanland
Avenue and vice versa.
The road closures are necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months
(from 5 November 2024) but it is anticipated that the
works will be completed by 28 March 2025.
The closures will be between the hours of 09.30 -
15.30. One way system will become two ways on
Lamplugh Lane, St Annes Road and Sands Lane.
The diversion routes will be signed at the time of
closure. The roads will be closed to all traffic but
access will be maintained for emergency vehicles,
residents and pedestrians. Further information can
