HYSBYSIR drwy hyn fod Cyngor Dinas Casnewydd (y cyfeirir ato hyn ymlaen fel "y Cyngor"), drwy arfer ei bwerau o dan Adran 84 o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y diwygiwyd) ac unrhyw bwerau galluogol eraill, yn bwriadu gwneud y Gorchymyn uchod, a’i effaith gyffredinol fydd diffinio terfyn cyflymder 30mya penodedig a gosod terfyn cyflymder 30mya yn y ffyrdd a darnau o ffyrdd a bennir yn yr Atodlen i’r Hysbysiad hwn.

NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, NEWPORT) (30 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (No. 2) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Newport City Council (hereinafter referred to as "the Council") in exercise of its powers under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and all other enabling powers, intends to make the above named Order, the general effect of which will be to remove the existing 20mph speed limit and replace it with a 30mph speed limit on the lengths of roads specified within Schedule to this Notice.

An exemption will be permitted for military and emergency vehicles only.

A copy of the draft order, plans and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the order, may be inspected by scanning the QR code below or via request to Conveyancing.Team@newport.gov.uk or telephone 01633 656656. If you wish to object to the proposals, you should send the grounds for your objection in writing to the undersigned by 1st April 2025.

SCHEDULE

The following lengths of road will be subject to a 30 mph speed limit:

1. Began Road: from its junction with Druidstone Road for a distance of 90 metres.

2. Bridge Terrace: for its entire length.

3. Draethen: from its junction with Michaelstone Road for a distance of 40 metres, to the boundary with Caerphilly.

4. Druidstone Road: from its junction with Began Road to a distance of 145 metres.

5. Michaelstone Road: from its junction with Began Road to its junction with Pentre-Poethe Road.

6. Pentre-Poethe Road: from its junction with Michaelstone Road / Draethen for a distance of 300 metres.

7. Penylan Road: from a point 520 metres south west of its junction with Pound Hill to a point 240 metres north east of said junction.

8. Holly Lane: from its junction with Penylan Road for a distance of 40 metres.

9. Pound Hill: from its junction with Penylan Road for a distance of 40 metres.

10. Pike Road: for its entire length.

11. Llanvaches Lane: from its junction with Pike Road to a point 115 metres west of its junction with Tabernacle Road.

12. Millbrook Lane: from its junction with Lime Kiln Court for a distance of 50 metres north.

13. Llandevaud Lane: from its junction with A48 to a point 210 metres north of its junction with Lower Road.

14. Upper Road: for its entire length.

15. Pencoed Lane: for its entire length.

16. Pencoed View: for its entire length.

17. Bishton Road: from a point 475 metres south west of its junction with Red House Lane for a distance of 100 metres west.

18. Bishton Road: from a point 575 metres north east of its junction with Red House Lane for a distance of 100 metres north east.
