Dantzic Street - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Works

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC142329732: The City of Manchester (Dantzic Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Dantzic Street 20m either side of railway bridge MVM6/11. The alternative routes for traffic will be: signed locally. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Detailed bridge examination. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 20th March 2025 to 21st March 2025 between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00. The order shall come into operation on 20th March 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 5th March 2025. 

ORDER NO. MCC142359583: The City of Manchester (Southmill Street & Lloyd Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic, No Waiting No Loading & Suspension of One-Way Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Southmill Street & Lloyd Street from Jackson’s Row to Deansgate. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Southmill Street, Peter Street, Quay Street, Byrom Street, Hardman Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Tiown Hall and Albert Square Development works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 17th March 2025 to 18th April 2025. 
The order shall come into operation on 17th March 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
