TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

BARTON TURF AND IRSTEAD – The Street from its junction with Berry Hall to its junction with Common Road to facilitate water metre exchange works on 11th March 2025 (may continue until 22nd April 2025). Alternative route is via: Pennygate Lane, School Road, Hall Road, The Street.

BELTON WITH BROWSTON – Station Road North from its junction with Paddock Close for 1300m south-eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council essential surfacing works from 10th to 14th March 2025 (may continue until 25th April 2025). Alternative route is via: St Johns Road, Waveney Drive, New Road, Belton New Road, Beccles Road, Bracon Road, Station Road South (Bradwell, Belton with Browston).

BELTON WITH BROWSTON – Cherry Lane from its junction with Lound Road to facilitate CityFibre Metro Networks Ltd installation of new fibre network for BDU from 14th to 31st March 2025 (may continue until 12th May 2025). Alternative route is via: Lound Road, Beccles Road, Beaufort Way, Browston Lane (Bradwell, Belton with Browston).

BUXTON WITH LAMAS – Coltishall Road from 200m south of its junction with Sandy Lane for 100m southwards to facilitate BT to maintain a safe working zone for engineer to access pole for testing and tree cutting works on 11th March 2025 (may continue until 22nd April 2025). Alternative route is via: Coltishall Road, Aylsham Road, Buxton Road, A140 Aylsham Bypass/Cromer Road, B1354 Waterloo Road/Old Church Road, Buxton Road, Coltishall Road (Brampton, Marsham, Horstead with Stanninghall, Frettenham, Hevingham, Buxton with Lammas, Stratton Strawless, Aylsham, Hainford).

COLTISHALL – The Hill from its junction with The Street for 150m north-westwards to facilitate BDUK installing new duct with cab and chamber as part of cabling works for the network from 13th to 14th March 2025 (may continue until 30th April 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, White Lion Road, B1354 Wroxham Road/Church Street/High Street, B1150 High Street/Station Road/North Walsham Road, Rectory Road, The Hill.

CROMER – Bernard Road from 50m south of its junction with A149 Runton Road for 50m south-westwards to facilitate Anglian Water mains fitting works from 13th to 15th March 2025 (may continue until 26th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Bernard Road, A149 Runton Road, Beach Road.

FELTHORPE – Brick Kiln Road from its junction with B1149 Holt Road for 200m eastwards to facilitate underground structure works from 10th to 11th March 2025 (may continue until 22nd April 2025). Alternative route is via: Brick Kiln Road, The Street, A140 Cromer Road, Shorthorn Road, B1149 Holt Road (Felthorpe, Hevingham, Stratton Strawless).

FOULSHAM – Hindolveston Road from 260m north of its junction with Guist Road for 50m northwards to facilitate Anglian Water chamber replacement works from 11th to 13th March 2025 (may continue until 24th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Hindolveston Road, Market Hill, High Street, Station Road, Foxley Road, A1067 (Fakenham Road, Norwich Road), B1110 Holt Road, Fulmodeston Road, The Street, Foulsham Road, Hindolveston Road (Twyford, Guist, Hindolveston, Foulsham, Bintree, Wood Norton, Guestwick).

HOLKHAM AND BURNHAM OVERY

  1. A149 Wells Road from 100m east of its junction with Glebe Lane to its junction with Model Farm Road and
  2. A149 Main Road from 400m west of its junction with Park Road to its junction with Model Farm Road to facilitate Norfolk County Council carriageway resurfacing works
  3. A149 Wells Road between 07:00 and 19:00 from 10th to 12th March 2025 then
  4. A149 Main Road between 07:00 and 19:00 from 13th to 14th March 2025 whilst signs indicating closures are in place (may continue until 25th April 2025).

Alternative route is via: The Street, Ringland Road, Beech Avenue, A1067 Fakenham Road, Marl Hill (Ringland, Morton-on-the-Hill, Taverham, Attlebridge).

NORTH WALSHAM – Lyngate from 150m northwest of its junction with Bradfield Road for 150m north-westwards to facilitate replacement of overhead electrical powerlines on 11th March 2025 (may continue until 22nd April 2025). Alternative route is via: Lyngate Road, Bradfield Road, Chapel Road, Pond Road.

SALHOUSE – Lower Street from 130m southwest of its junction with Upper Street for 50m south-westwards to facilitate fire hydrant frame and cover replacement works from 10th to 12th March 2025 (may continue until 23rd April 2025). Alternative route is via: Slad Lane, Southfield Lane, B1140 (Low Road, Norwich Road, Mill Road), Lower Street (Salhouse, Woodbastwick).

SLOLEY – High Street from 240m north of its junction with Anchor Street for 50m northwards to facilitate new fire hydrant concrete surround installation works from 10th to 12th March 2025 (may continue until 23rd April 2025). Alternative route is via: High Street, Anchor Street, Union Road, A149 Yarmouth Road, Worstead Road, Dilham Road, Honing Row, Church Plain, (Back Street/Front Street), Sloley Road, High Street (Sloley, Worstead, Dilham, Tunstead, Smallburgh).

SPIXWORTH – Crostwick Lane from its junction with Buxton Road to its junction with B1150 North Walsham Road to facilitate Norfolk County Council highway repairs and maintenance works from 10th to 14th March 2025 only whilst signs indicating closures are in place (may continue until 25th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Buxton Road, Spixworth Road, White Woman Lane, B1150 North Walsham Road, Crostwick Lane (Beeston St. Andrew, Spixworth, Sprowston, Old Catton, Crostwick).

STALHAM – The Staithe from 150m northwest of its junction with A149 Yarmouth Road for 30m north-westwards to facilitate new water connection works from 12th to 14th March 2025 (may continue until 25th April 2025). Alternative route is via: The Staithe, A149 Yarmouth Road/Wayford Road, Chapel Field Road, Mill Road, The Staithe.

WALCOTT – North Walsham Road from its junction with B1159 Stalham Road to its junction with Walcott Green to facilitate overhead power lines and poles replacement and installation works (may continue until 24th April 2025). Alternative route is via: North Walsham Road, The Street, Whimpwell Street, Whimpwell Green, Lessingham Road, Coast Road, Ingham Road, Water Lane, Sea Palling Road, Mill Road, Town Road, Ingham Road, High Street, Lower Staithe Road, Old Market Road, A149 Yarmouth Road/Wayford Road, B1159 Stepping Stone Lane/Stalham Road (East Ruston, Stalham, Happisburgh, Ingham, Brumstead, Lessingham, Walcott).

ATTLEBOROUGH – U33126 Leys Lane from 130m south of its junction with U33127 Slough Lane for 50m southwards to facilitate Anglian Water meter exchange works between 19:00 on 13th March and 06:00 on 14th March (may continue until 25th April 2025). BANHAM – Heath Road from its junction with Cross Road to its junction with B1077 to facilitate Norfolk County Council surface dressing preparation works from 11th to 14th March 2025 (may continue until 25th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Cross Road, Winfarthing Road, Short Green, Mile Road (Winfarthing, Banham).

CARBROOKE – U33019 Mill Lane from 365m south of its junction with C134 Broadmoor Road for 120m southwards to facilitate BT pole test works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 14th March (may continue until 25th April 2025). Alternative route is via: B1108 Norwich Road, C134 Broadmoor Road, U33019 Mill Lane and vice versa.

CASTON – C546 Attleborough Road from 320m west of its junction with B1077 Carbrooke Road for 60m westwards to facilitate BT pole test works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 10th March 2025 (may continue until 21st April 2025). Alternative route is via: C546 The Street/Griston Road, C546/U33192 Thompson Road, A1075 Thetford Road/Memorial Way, B1108 Norwich Road, B1077 Caston Road/Carbrooke Road, C546 Attleborough Road and vice versa (Carbrooke, Caston, Griston, Watton).

GELDESTON – C588 Yarmouth Road from its junction with U76376 Heath Road for 254m eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council carriageway repairs on 11th March 2025 (may continue until 22nd April 2025). Alternative route is via: Yarmouth Road Church Road A143 Kirby Cane Bypass A143 Yarmouth Road, A143 Norwich Road, A146 Norwich Road Loddon Road, The Street, Old Yarmouth Road (Stockton, Geldeston, Gillingham, Kirby Cane).

HADDISCOE – U76359 Mill Road from 355m north of its junction with B1136 Loddon Road for 100m northwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council repairs to passing bays on 10th March (may continue until 21st April 2025). Alternative route is via: Mill Road, B1136 Loddon Road, Beccles Road, Church Road (Haddiscoe, Thurlton).

HINGHAM – U78089 Low Road from its junction with C164 Hall Moor Road for 564m westwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council resurfacing work from 10th to 14th March 2025 (may continue until 25th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Hall Moor Road, Low Road, Attleborough Road, Cadges Lane.

MATTISHALL – C200 Norwich Road from its junction with U35080 Blind Lane for 200m westwards to facilitate BT pole test works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 13th March 2025 (may continue until 24th April 2025). Alternative route is via: C200 Mattishall Road, C167 Barnham Broom Road/Honingham Road/Bell Road/Rush Green/Barnham Broom Road, B1108 Norwich Road, B1135 Dereham Road/Norwich Road/Low Street/The Lings/Dereham Road/Whinburgh Road, C200 Norwich Road/Yaxham Road/Norwich Road and vice versa (Hardingham, Garvestone, Reymerston and Thuxton, Yaxham, Whinburgh and Westfield, Barnham Broom, Brandon Parva, Coston, Runhall and Welborne, Kimberley, East Tuddenham, Mattishall).

ROYDON (DISS)C880 Roydon Road from its junction with B1077 Denmark Street for 40m westwards to facilitate Cadent Gas new gas connection works from 8th to 9th March 2025 (may continue until 20th April 2025).

Alternative route is via: Roydon Road, Old High Road, High Road, A1066 Stanley Road, B1077 Denmark Street (Roydon, Diss).

ROYDON (DISS)U76231 Tottington Lane from its junction with A1066 Stanley Road for 425m south-eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council ditch repair works from 13th to 14th March 2025 (may continue until 25th April 2025).

Alternative route is via: Tottington Lane, Denmark Lane, A1066 Stanley Road (Roydon, Diss).

SHIPDHAMU35005 Carbrooke Lane from its junction with U35091 Mount Pleasant for 100m southwards to facilitate BT pole test works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 12th March 2025 (may continue until 23rd April 2025).

SOUTH PICKENHAM

  1. Watton Road from 230m south of its junction with West View for 50m southwards and
  2. Swaffham Road from 100m north of its junction with Church Lane for 50m northwards to facilitate BT access to overhead structures between 09:30 and 15:30 on 10th March 2025 only whilst signs indicating closures are in place (may continue until the 21st April 2025).

    Alternative route is via: The Street, Watton Road, Swaffham Road, Saham Toney Road, Ashill Road, Richmond Road, Brandon Road, South Pickenham Road (Hilborough, Ickburgh, Swaffham, Great Cressingham, Watton, North Pickenham, Little Cressingham, Ashill, South Pickenham, Cockley Cley, Saham Toney).

    NB: Please note that this will be a rolling closure where only one road will be closed at a time.

    KING’S LYNN – Guanock Terrace from its junction with Thomas Street to its junction with Goodwins Road to facilitate Anglian Water new water connection works from 10th to 12th March 2025 (may continue until the 23rd April 2025). Alternative route is via: Guanock Terrace, Windsor Road, London Road, Guanock Place.

    KING’S LYNN – U20447/20 King George V Avenue from its junction with Tennyson Avenue to its junction with U20447/10 King George V Avenue to facilitate Norfolk County Council footway works from 10th March to 30th May 2025 (may continue until 30th November 2025). Alternative route is via: U20447/10 King George V Avenue, Gaywood Road, Tennyson Avenue.

    KING’S LYNN – Portland Street from its junction with Blackfriars Road for 30m westwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council resurfacing works. Traffic over the road will be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 10th to 14th March 2025 only whilst signs indicating restrictions are in place (may continue until the 25th April 2025). Alternative route is via: N/A.

    KING’S LYNN – Portland Street from its junction with Railway Road to its junction with Blackfriars Road to facilitate Norfolk County Council resurfacing works from 10th to 14th March 2025 only whilst signs indicating closures are in place (may continue until 25th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Portland Street, Blackfriars Road, Railway Road, Norfolk Street, John Kennedy Road, Austin Street.

    SEDGEFORD – Sedgeford Footpath 2 from its junction with Church Lane for 60m southwards owing to falling church wall from 10th to 31st March 2025 (previously 17th February to 19th March 2025) (may continue until the 16th August 2025). Alternative route is via: Sedgeford Footpath 2, Snettisham Road, Church Lane.

    STARSTON – C877 The Street/Pulham Road from 235m west of its junction with C201 Church Hill for 100m westwards to facilitate BT pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 8th March 2025 (may continue until the 19th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Pulham Road, Harleston Road, The Street, Norwich Road, The Green, Bank Street, Tattlepot Road, Tivetshall Road, A140 Ipswich Road/Scole Dickleburgh Bypass/Scole Bypass, A143, Scole Stuston Bypass/Bungay Road/Lower Street/Scole Road/Brockdish Needham Bypass, High Road, Needham Road, London Road, Wilderness Lane, Swan Lane, Harleston Road, The Street (Brockdish, Pulham Market, Redenhall with Harleston, Stuston, Dickleburgh and Rushall, Needham, Scole, Tivetshall, Pulham St. Mary, Starston, Burston and Shimpling, Brome and Oakley).

    WALPOLE – Walpole Bank from 440m north of its junction with Mill Road for 320m northwards to facilitate BT underground works from 11th to 12th March 2025 (may continue until the 23rd April 2025). Alternative route is via: Walpole Bank, Folgate Lane, Wisbech Road, Pigeon Street, Police Road, West Drove North, Lynn Road, School Road, Salts Road, Mill Road (Walpole Highway, West Walton, Walpole).

    WRETTON – Field Lane from its junction with Lynn Road for 35m south-westwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council carriageway patching works from 11th to 14th March 2025 (may continue until the 25th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Field Lane, Cromer Lane, Lynn Road, Wretton Road, Low Road, Church Road (Stoke Ferry, Wretton).

    BACTON – The Street from its junction with Clay Lane for 80m south westwards to facilitate electrical connection works from 3rd to 7th March 2025 (may continue until 7th September 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, Rectory Road, Church Road, Sandy Lane, Pollard Street, Bacton Road, The Green (Witton, Bacton).

    BELTON WITH BROWSTON

    1. New Road from its junction with Bracon Road for 300m north eastwards and
    2. Bracon Road from its junction with Fern Gardens for 50m eastwards to facilitate essential resurfacing works from 6th to 7th March 2025 (may continue until 18th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Waveney Drive, St Johns Road, Station Road North, Bracon Road.

      BLAKENEY – A149 New Road from 90m west of its junction with Wiveton Road for 50m south westwards to facilitate Anglian Water works for a new water connection between 19:00 and 23:59 on the 5th March 2025 (may continue until 16th April 2025). Alternative route is via:

      BURGH AND TUTTINGTON – Burgh Road from its junction with Wood Lane for 250m north-westwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council cradle footbridge replacement works from 3rd to 7th March 2025 (may continue until the 16th April 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, Aylsham Road, Church Road, New Road, Tuttington Road, Hall Road, Beck Lane, Norwich Road, Aylsham Road, Tuttington Road, A140 Aylsham Bypass, Burgh Road (Brampton, Felmingham, Aylsham, Burgh and Tuttington, Skeyton).

      BURGH AND TUTTINGTON

      1. Tuttington Footpath 3 from its junction with Church Lane for 140m southwards and
      2. Brampton Footpath 3 from its junction with Tuttington Footpath 3 for 20m southwards and
      3. Brampton Footpath 4 from its junction with Brampton Footpath 3 for 20m eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council cradle footbridge replacement works from 3rd March to 2nd May 2025 only whilst signs indicating closures are in place (may continue until the 2nd September 2025).

      BUXTON WITH LAMAS – Footpath Between 17 And 18 Cromes Place to Hautbois Road from its junction with Hautbois Road for 84m eastwards to facilitate CityFibre installation of new fibre network works from 5th to 7th March 2025 (may continue until the 18th April 2025).

      Alternative route is via: Footpath South Of 1 Cromes Place To Ormesby Road, Hautbois Road, Cromes Place (Buxton with Lammas, Scottow).

      CAWSTON

      1. B1145 High Street (northern side) from its junction with Chapel Street for 32m westwards,
      2. B1145 High Street (northern side) from 92m west of its junction with Chapel Street for 79m westwards,
      3. B1145 High Street (southern side) from its junction with Booton Road for 30m eastwards,
      4. B1145 High Street (southern side) from 41m west of its junction with Booton Road for 60m westwards,
      5. B1145 High Street (southern side) from its 102m west of its junction with Booton Road for 14m westwards,
      6. Chapel Street from its junction with B1145 High Street for 20m northwards.

      To facilitate safe passage for HGVs during private development works, traffic over the roads shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 1st March 2025 to 11th August 2028.

      GREAT YARMOUTH – Southtown Road from its junction with Queen Anne Road for 210m northwards to facilitate construction of new public realm and surface works by Norfolk County Council from 1st March to 25th April 2025 (previously 3rd June 2024 to 28th February 2025) (may continue until 2nd December 2025).

      GREAT YARMOUTH – Kitchener Road from 90m east of its junction with Northgate Street for 200m eastwards to facilitate Cadent gas main upgrades from 3rd to 21st March 2025 (may continue until 2nd May 2025).

      Alternative route is via: Kitchener Road, Northgate Street, Estcourt Road, North Denes Road.

      GREAT YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Way from its junction with Deneside for 400m south eastwards to facilitate installation of bus bays and traffic flow works from 3rd to 10th March 2025 (may continue until 21st April 2025).

      Alternative route is via: Yarmouth Way, King Street, St Peters Road, Blackfriars Road, Camden Road, Queens Road, South Quay.

      HAPPISBURGH – Grub Street from 20m south of its junction with Lantern Lane for 240m southwards to facilitate works to create a new entrance and cable ducting working from 3rd March to 4th April 2025 (may continue until 4th October 2025).

      Alternative route is via: Grub Street, Lantern Lane, Whimpwell Street, Coronation Road, Short Lane.

      INGHAM – Mill Road from 180m north of its junction with Calthorpe Street for 260m northwards to facilitate pole testing works on 4th March 2025 (may continue until 15th April 2025).

      Alternative route is via: Mill Road, Calthorpe Street, Whinmere Road, Sea Palling Road, Hickling Lane, Stalham Road, Sea Palling Road (Ingham, Hickling, Sea Palling).

      KNAPTON – The Street from its junction with Paston Road for 250m north eastwards to facilitate installation of a surface water drainage system from 3rd March to 11th April 2025 (may continue until 11th October 2025).

      Alternative route is via: The Street, Paston Road, The Green (Paston, Knapton).

      MORTON-ON-THE-HILL – Marl Hill from its junction with A1067 Fakenham Road to its junction with Morton Lane to facilitate cutting back vegetation around field entrance between 08:00 and 16:00 from 3rd to 5th March 2025 (may continue until 16th April 2025).

      NORTHREPPS – Hall Road from 101m northeast of its junction with New Road for 100m north-eastwards to facilitate C & L Construction installation of utility services works from 3rd to 21st March 2025 (may continue until 2nd May 2025).

      Alternative route is via: Road, Crossdale Street, Norwich Road, Mill Road, Station Road, Overstrand Road, Northrepps Road (Cromer, Northrepps).

      OVERSTRAND – High Street from its junction with Cromer Road for 38m north-eastwards to facilitate Cadent gas main upgrade work from 3rd to 14th March 2025 (may continue until 14th September 2025).

      Alternative route is via: Cromer Road, Mundesley Road, Carr Lane, High Street.

      RACKHEATH – Vera Road from its junction with Green Lane East for 30m north-eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council footway works from 3rd to 14th March 2025 (may continue until 25th April 2025).

      Alternative route is via: Green Lane East, Salhouse Road, Vera Road.

      RINGLAND – Ringland Road/Ringland Bridge from 50m southeast of its junction with The Street for 150m south-eastwards owing to a reduced load carrying capacity due to further deterioration of the bridge. The current 7.5 tonne restriction will be suspended, and the road will be subject to a 3.0 tonne weight restriction from 7th March 2025 to 14th August 2026 (previously 14th February to 6th March 2025).

      SOUTH WALSHAM – Burlingham Road from 20m southwest of its junction with The Street for 50m south-westwards to facilitate water meter exchange works on 4th March 2025 (may continue until 15th April 2025).

      Alternative route is via: Panxworth Road, B1140 Chamery Hall Lane/Newport Road, Old Newport Road, Burlingham Road.

      SUFFIELD – Rectory Road from 210m south of its junction with Brick Kiln Lane for 180m southwards to facilitate construction of new vehicular access for cable ducting works from 4th March to 7th April 2025 (may continue until 7th October 2025).

      Alternative route is via: Rectory Road, Felmingham Road.

      Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months for vehicular highway or 6 months for non-vehicular highway.
