TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025 (NORWICH)

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

(i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

  • GOLDSMITH STREET – from 1m north of its junction with Dereham Road northwards for 5m northwards to facilitate manhole repair works between 19:00 and 06:00 from 10th to 11th March 2025 (may continue until 22nd April 2025). Alternative route is via Goldsmith Street, Browne Street, Old Palace Road, Browne Street.
  • WOODHALL RISE FOOTPATH – Woodhall Rise Footpath South of 65 and 67 Knowland Grove to its junction with Woodhill Rise to its junction with Knowland Grove to facilitate BT telecommunication works for hoist works and minor civils (may continue until 25th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Knowland Grove, Woodhill Rise Footpath South of 75 and 79 to Knowland Grove, Woodhill Rise.
  • MILE CROSS ROAD/DRAYTON ROAD – 1½ Mile Cross Road – from its junction with the Mile Cross Road/Drayton Road Roundabout to its junction with Valpy Avenue; and 2½ Drayton Road/Drayton Road Roundabout from its junction with Mile Cross Road/Drayton Road Roundabout to its junction with Shorncliffe Avenue and 3½ Mile Cross Road/Drayton Road from its junction with Drayton Road to its junction with Mile Cross Road to facilitate Norfolk County Council carriageway resurfacing works between 07:00 and 23:59 on either the 15th or 22nd March 2025 with signs indicating closures in advance (may continue until the 3rd May 2025). Alternative route is via: Mile Cross Road, Drayton Road, A1067, Old Palace Road, A1470, Aylsham Road.

NB: Please note that the date of the closures is dependent on weather and will occur on one of the three anticipated dates only.

(ii) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

  • MORNINGTON ROAD – from 85m east of its junction with Colman Road for 95m eastwards to facilitate sewer repairs between 19:30 and 23:59 from 4th to 5th March 2025 (may continue until 16th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Mornington Road, Colman Road, Muriel Road, Christchurch Road, Christchurch Road North, Muriel Road.
  • COTMAN ROAD – from its junction with Ranson Road for 15m westwards to facilitate water pipe repair works from 5th to 8th March 2025 (may continue until 19th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Westbound – Telegraph Lane East, Whitlingham Road, Clarence Road, Cotman Road. Eastbound – Cotman Road, Thorpe Road and Cotman Road.
  • WHITEHALL ROAD – from its junction with Avenue Road for 40m westwards to facilitate electrical connection works from 4th to 10th March 2025 (may continue until 17th April 2025). Alternative route is via: Portersfield Road, College Road.

Where exceptional circumstances dictate the Order may contain exemptions. The provisions of the named road(s)/footpath(s) in the event of the start date being delayed, the length of road(s) may be reduced in advance. Where an Order prohibits the use of a road it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road. Anticipated dates are subject to change and are correct at the time of the advertisement.

Any queries should be made to the agency as required.

If necessary, the Orders may be extended for a maximum duration of 18 months for vehicular highway or footpath restriction.

£1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
