East Kilbride Road, Busby - Temporary Road Closure due to Network Rail Works

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION TO USE OF ROAD ORDER 2025
On the 20 February 2025 the Council made the above named Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order has been promoted to restrict the vehicular access on a section of East Kilbride Road (under the railway bridge), Busby, in order to facilitate the safe operation of Network Rail structural works on or near the road.
The works are scheduled as follows:
Overnight closure: from 8PM on Monday 17th March to 8AM on Friday 21st March 2025.
Full road closure: from 11PM on Friday 21st March to 6AM on Tuesday 25th March 2025.
Overnight closure: from 8PM on Tuesday 25th March to 8AM on Friday 28th March 2025.
The Order authorises the closure of the road for the duration of the works.
Vehicular access to properties within the extents of the closure may be permitted by the contractor on site only when it is possible to do so in conjunction with the works going on at the time. Access for emergency vehicles attending an incident will be maintained at all times.
Diversion Route: East Kilbride Road – Main Street – Busby Road – B767 Eaglesham Road – Glasgow Road – Gilmour Street – Cheapside Street – B764 Eaglesham Road – A726 Queensway – East Kilbride Road and vice versa.
