(On Street Parking Places) Order 2009 (Arthurs Hill Area Variation) Order 2025
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne propose to make an Order under Sections 32, 35, 45, 46, 49, 53, 63 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which amends the City of Newcastle upon Tyne (On Street Parking Places) Order 2009 ("the 2009 Order").
Note - the Council are considering making a new On Street Order.
If the new On Street Order is made before the proposed Order, then the proposed Order will become an amendment to the new On Street Order.
2. The effect of the proposed Order is to designate the following roads/ lengths of road as a parking place zone for permit holders between the hours of 9.30am - 11.30am, and 3.30pm - 8.30pm, Monday to Sunday - Arthurs Hill Area Zone consisting of the following lengths of road -
(a) Avison Place - for its entire length,
(b) Avolon Place - for its entire length,
(c) Cookson Close - for its entire length,
(d) Douglas Terrace - north side, from 20 metres west of Edward Place eastwards for 34 metres,
(e) Douglas Terrace - south side, from 10 metres east of Edward Place westwards for metres,
(f) Douglas Terrace - south side, from 10 metres east of Cookson Close eastwards for 50 metres,
(g) Edward Place - for its entire length,
(h) Frosterley Place - for its entire length,
(i) Hamilton Crescent - for its entire length,
(j) Liddle Court - for its entire length,
(k) Liddle Road - from Prospect Place, to a point 5 metres north of Douglas Terrace,
(l) Monday Crescent - for its entire length,
(m) Monday Place - for its entire length,
(n) Philip Place - for its entire length,
(m)Thorpe Close - from its junction with Beaconsfield Street eastwards for 105 metres,
(n)Vallum Way - for its entire length, and
(o)Worley Close - for its entire length.
The parking place zone will be added to the 2009 Order and therefore the provisions and conditions of that Order will apply to it.
NOTE: Resident parking permits will be available for each eligible property (a maximum of 2 per property) which will exempt permit holders from the restriction.
A visitor parking permit may also be issued to eligible residential properties (a maximum of one per property).
Permits may also be available (if they would cause no unreasonable detriment to resident parking) for any property occupied by a business or charity (maximum numbers apply).
Permits will be issued for Parking Zone WG9. Details of permit charges/issue/renewal, conditions of use, discounts and types of permit are contained in the 2009 Order.
Eligible Properties: Avison Street - Nos. 2 to 22 including A (even); Avolon Court - All properties; Avolon Walk - All properties; Barrington Place - All properties; Beaconsfield Street - Nos. 238 to 252 (even), No. 314; Cookson Close - All properties; Darnell Place - All properties; Edward Place - All properties; Frosterley Place - All properties; Hamilton Crescent - All properties; Hamilton Place - All properties; Liddle Court - All properties; Liddle Road - All properties; Monday Crescent - All properties; Monday Place - All properties; Philip Place - All properties; Powys Place - All properties; Prospect Place - Nos. 2 to 32 (even); Stanhope Way - Nos. 1 to 73 (odds), Nos. 22 to 82 (even); Thorpe Close - All properties; Thorpe Street - Nos. 69 and 71; Vallum Court - Nos. 241 to 360; Vallum Way - All properties; Walter Terrace - Nos. 1 to 17 including A; Westgate Court - Nos. 121 to 240 and Worley Close - All properties.

4. If you wish to object to, or make other representations about, the proposed Order or any of its provisions you should send your objection or representation by 22nd March 2025 quoting reference TR/ P50/1136 to Newcastle Parking Services, P.O. Any objection or representation MUST be made in writing and where an objection is made, it must state the grounds of the objection.
