Temporary Closure 400090 Varnister Road
(Ruardean Parish) Forest Of Dean District

Gloucestershire County Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 400090 Varnister Road from outside the rear of the property known as ‘No. 35 Crooked End Place’ to outside the property known as ‘Greenfields, Varnister Road’ for a distance of approximately 100 metres.

The reason for the closure is for works by the National Grid.

The road is expected to be closed from 08:00hrs on 10th March 2025 until 16:00hrs on 21st March 2025 or until the works have been completed. For further information, please contact Gloucestershire Highways on 08000 514 514 or visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk.

Alternative Route – as signed on site. Pedestrian and Emergency access to premises on or next to the road will be maintained.

Temporary Closure B4234 New Road
(West Dean Parish) Forest Of Dean District

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the B4234 New Road from the north side of the Dean Forest Railway entrance to outside the property known as ‘Whitecroft’ for a distance of approximately 2000 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for excavation, canopy clearance and drainage survey works.

The said road is expected to be closed from 24th February 2025 until 14th March 2025 or until the said works have been completed. For further information, please contact Gloucestershire Highways on 08000 514 514 or visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk.

Alternative Route – as signed on site. Emergency access will be maintained. Pedestrian access to premises on or next to the road will not be maintained as the footway will be under construction but a pedestrian diversion will be installed.

Temporary Closure Of Public Footpath Fly 21
(Lydney Town) Forest Of Dean District

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath FLY 21 from its junction Swan Road extending in a generally southerly direction for approximately 450 metres to its junction with Public Footpath FLY 24 and shown on the Map by a bold solid black line marked A to B.

The said public footpath falls within Lydney in the Forest of Dean District, within the County of Gloucestershire.

The said closure is necessary to safeguard the public whilst erosion works take place.

The said public footpath is expected to be closed and restricted at various times between 10th March 2025 and 28th March 2025 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the closure is in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site 2 weeks prior to any closure taking effect.

Alternative Route – as indicated on the Order Map by a dashed black line B to C to D to E to A. Or alternatively from B to C to F to H to A. Emergency access and pedestrian access to adjoining properties will be maintained.

Temporary Closure C25 Road From Junction With Branches Road To Junction With A48
(Awre Parish) Forest Of Dean District

Gloucestershire County Council intend to make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C25 Road from junction with Branches Road to junction with A48 from its junction with A48 to outside of the property known as ‘Greenfields’ for a distance of approximately 490 metres.

The reason for the closure is for drainage works.

Temporary Closure Of Public Bridleway Ews 153
(Westbury On Severn Parish) Forest Of Dean District

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Bridleway EWS 153 from its junction at Lumbars Lane in a generally Westerly direction for approximately 290 metres to its junction with Public Footpath EWS 152 and shown on the Order Map by a bold solid black line marked A to B.

The Bridleway falls within the Parish of Westbury on Severn in the Forest of Dean District, in the County of Gloucestershire.

The closure is necessary to safeguard the public whilst fibre works take place.

The Order will come into force on 24th March 2025 and is anticipated that the Bridleway will remain closed until 28th March 2025. This Order authorises the closure for a period of up to six months if necessary. After this date if the closure is still required it will be necessary to apply to the Secretary of State for an extension of time.

Alternative Route – no alternative route though access for pedestrians will be maintained in full. Emergency access and pedestrian access will be maintained. Date: 5th March 2025.

(Lydney Town) Forest Of Dean District

Gloucestershire County Council intend to make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C12 Main Road from its junction with Captains Green Road to its junction with Stag Hill for a distance of approximately 130 metres.

The reason for the closure is for works by Severn Trent Water.
